First trip to Mt. Rainier National Park. This place is truly magical and i can not wait to go back and further explore it. This shot is taken off the road overlooking Tipsoo Lake. Was hoping for better sunset colors and possibly a Milky Way shot but the forest fire smoke rolled it and covered the view of the mountain.

Another "cool" image for a hot summer day. Walking thru the snow and slush this day is a refreshing memory.
Mount Bachelor is so called because it "stands apart" from the Three Sisters, a group of three volcanic mountains that are northwest of Mount Bachelor.
Mount Bachelor ski area operates a chairlift during the summer as well as during the ski season making it the only major Cascade volcano with a chairlift to the summit. Nationally known, the resort is one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest.

Morning light at Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), Georgia. Gergeti Trinity Orthodox Church center left. Gergeti Trinity (14th century) lies at elevation 2170 meters. Mt Kazbek is a dormant stratovolcano, elevation 5,000 meters, on the Georgia-Russia border in the Caucasus mountain range.

One of the most photographed sections of the route to Mt Owen, the highest mountain in Kahurangi National Park, New Zealand. Would be very slippery in the rain.

Aoraki / Mt Cook reflected in the milk pond flat Lake Pukaki on a very fine late afternoon. I have rarely seen the lake this mirror like.

Aoraki / Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand. It's height, as of 2014, is listed as 3,724 metres. It is situated in the Southern Alps, the mountain range that runs the length of the South Island.
Lake Pukaki is the largest lake in the area, and it proudly shows off New Zealand’s tallest peak, Aoraki/ Mount Cook, from the many lookout points around its shores. The water colour of the lake is a bright turquoise due to glacial flour, made from extremely fine rock particles that have come from the surrounding glaciers. The lake is fed at its northern end by the braided Tasman River, which has its source in the Hooker and Tasman Glacier. When the sun hits the surface of the lake, it reflects off the particles transforming it to a brilliant blue. The combination of the magnificent lake, surrounding peaks and wide open skies are a dream for photographers and pose the difficult challenge of capturing the grandeur of the ever-changing landscape.
Mt Edith Cavell is one of the most recognizable mountains in the Canadian Rockies, since it can be seen from Jasper Township and many viewpoints north of Athabasca Falls.
I highly recommend Cavell Meadows to people up for a moderate hike, to get a closer view of Mt Edith Cavell's impressive north face. Just check road, weather and trail conditions before heading out for the hike.
Mt Edith Cavell is the most prominent mountain (just over 2,000 metres) that is entirely in Alberta. A mountain's prominence is the summit elevation relative to the lowest contour line surrounding the mountain. Most of the ultra prominent mountains in North America are in Alaska. For comparison, only one Colorado mountain has a greater prominence than Edith Cavell.

Here’s a snapshot of Mt. Hood in Oregon, my first stop of the day on August 20, 2025—this place is absolutely stunning. Before reaching the site, I came across a tent with two rangers who collected a $10 day-use fee. I paid quickly and continued on my way to the planned destination. It was an almost perfect day for photographing the mountain. Why almost? Because I wished for some more picturesque clouds instead of the completely clear sky. Plus, it was a bit windy, creating more water ripples than I’d like, as I wanted to capture the mountain’s reflection on the lake.
The clouds over Mt. Hood have been lingering for hours, refusing to give me a clear view of its peak. I suppose I'll need to move there and keep trying until I finally capture the perfect shot. Now, who’s willing to help fund my move? 😉
