.. wikipedia
Connecticut Warbler - Michigan
This has to be one of the toughest warblers to photograph. In general it doesn't live where people live (northern remote bogs) and the bogs are difficult to enter, and even if you do, they are a tangled mess filled with more mosquitoes than you have ever seen in your life!

One of the longest days of the year.. So wonderful to explore the countryside.. Would have been better without the mosquitoes.. Yes, just in case you were wondering, the dots and spots on most of these pictures are not sensor dust - these are all bloody mosquitoes and I left them there so that you can see and I can remember.. ;D

On our tail down taxy rides you enjoy the only chance in Europe to be inside a Mosquito with both Merlins running. We place guests enjoying a ride in the navigators position beside the pilot. The sound of the 2 Merlins alone has a profound effect on any one who is the least bit interested in the Second World War. The whole experience lasts 30 minutes, with the taxy run itself lasting around 15 minutes and a tour around the equipment in the cockpit. Each guest has a certificate to take home signed by the pilot.
Mosquito HJ711 is the only running Mosquito outside of North America!
I was in the right place at the right time when this adult mosquito was emerging directly from the pupal case on the surface of the water.
Mosquito lagoon runs along Bio Lab Road which is one of the two wildlife drives on Merritt Island, taking a very casual 5 to 10 mph drive along it and stopping wherever you want to see what is about, you might just see some different birds or wildlife along the way.
At the end of the drive you will see any rockets on their launch pads at Cape Canaveral that might be there as well.

Mosquito Falls
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Michigan
Mosquito Falls, located in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, is a hidden gem for those seeking a peaceful escape into nature. This small yet picturesque waterfall cascades over rocky ledges along the Mosquito River, creating a tranquil scene surrounded by lush forest. Though not the largest waterfall in the park, its secluded charm and the soothing sounds of rushing water make it a rewarding destination for those exploring the natural beauty of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
And we thought we had it bad with mosquitoes.. How did they get through that tough armor?

Early morning. Trying to find Yellow-winged Darters (Sympetrum flaveolum) in an area where I photographed them for the last time, as a young boy, in 2011.
But I ran into a problem. I ran out of 'Off', a Finnish version of mosquito repellent. Medvastö in Kirkkonummi is a wet area, and due to serious amounts of rain, it was a very very wet area this year. Hundreds of mosquitos, perhaps thousands, who love this wet environment were coming for me... and I couldn't handle'm, as I didn't have my magic spray. Yes, I did find the Yellow-winged Darters, but so did the mosquitos find me.
Well, got a couple of nice shots, softens the itching. Happy Days.
I wish I could say that the mosquitoes were bad this day, but the only thing this photo proves is that they weren't.

Thanks to mild winters and moist air, mosquitoes are thriving in Germany. And not just the native species.

Today I was attacked by two and a half million mosquitoes while photographing this fence in St. James Farm in Warrenville, Illinois.
