Early morning capture from last months ago on the Wareham river. Sunrise was very short lived before the rain clouds moved in for the rest of the day.

I have been ill since last week Saturday. I do not have enough strength to go outside to take any photos. This photo was taken 2 years ago.
Unfolding Joyful Creases
Drops crept gently from my eyes.
No comfort did I feel
so God sent me a surprise
to dry my tears and heal.
Cerulean bits of sky
unfolding joyful creases
before my wondering eyes.
Sorrow fell to pieces!
Every leaf a kiss,
a hug shaped like a heart.
Every blossom bliss
dried tears before they start.
No old hankie with its lace
could ever work as fine
as the morning glory's face
bedecking fertile vine!

Isaiah 25:6-8
6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Early one morning I peaked through my curtains to find, greeting me, this beautiful Cardinal a few feet away from my back window.

This is the second image in a Layered Series that I will be posting. All will be the same subject-- the early morning Kettle Moraine Forest, captured from atop the Parnell Tower. But there will be a considerable difference in the appearance of the images due to my changes in post-processing.
The final outcome of the same image can be dramatically different depending on the 'developing' or processing workflow. I thought it would be fun to show these variances in this series... Hope you enjoy!

The early morning sun burning through the mist gives this Great Egret a warm glow. Rembrandt is my favorite painter with his treatment of light and shadows and I have tried to apply his techniques to photography when ever I can. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I think this time it worked. Have a great weekend.
