I took this a few days ago when we got up ridiculously early to witness the dawn chorus under the guide of a real expert.
This man was able to pick out individual birds from a cacophony at 5am, whilst telling us about them, and answering our naive questions. He could even tell which were birds mimicking different birds.
At least that's what we assume. To be honest, he could have been telling us anything at 5am - I was just nodding with what I hope was an interested expression, daydreaming of duvets, pots of coffee and the cooked breakfast we were promised.

One from our few days in Kilmartin and a 4am start catching the beautiful mist that lingered around the valley for a few hours each morning.

One of my landscapes from yesterday morning. It was a frosty morning but as the Sun came up the frost evaporated and give a light mist across the fields which I thought would look well.
What an incredibly beautiful morning to be sure! I was a little late getting out to feed the chickens but was so glad in the end... the poor things had to wait even longer once I started taking pictures! It was foggy and the sun had just gotten up over the mountain and was shinging through the trees behind the house and just lit everything up in such an awesome way. I do love the fall!!
An early morning view from the windows of Hotel Tourmaline during my Kandy visit. Kandy, the second largest city of Sri Lanka is located in the central province. Surrounded with mountains and forests, Kandy offers a cool tropical rain forest climate where the temperatures are cooler than rest of the island. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988

This image was taken on a warm June morning. The early morning sun hitting the front yard, and the rabbit family was out for their breakfast. I was lucky to be there at that moment with my camera, as I was capturing the dew drops. This little bunny came out of the shadow and felt like something was going on, so he/she stood on his hind legs to observe. I was lying on my stomach at that time, so I could get few decent pictures of him before he decided to hop away...
Morning light just before sunset is incredible at this location. Sad to see a couple of the iconic trees have come down and even this one looks battered.

The view from my window last Thursday morning. Obviously I wasn't home in Vienna (high mountains around Vienna only occur in James Bond films). I was visiting friends in the far west of Austria, and the mountain range is the Alpstein, which form the eastern edge of Switzerland.
Noch ein Bild von diesem tollen Herbstmorgen (und nicht das letzte), für den sich das frühe Aufstehen gelohnt hat.
One more photo of that wonderful autumn morning, that was worth getting up so early.
The foggy morning weather at that time had perfectly suited the quiet and calm riverside landscape.
One of my older photos, a picture of a part of Macau, taken from a hotel window.
The sky was really something this morning. I didn't realize a flock of geese was up against one of the clouds until I posted this photo.
Early morning shot, taken from the summit of Mount Rocciamelone (3,538 meters - 11,603 feet), Susa Valley, Italy.
The morning mist rising from the plain is wrapping the peaks below.
