A small group from 'Kindergarten 1 Asteroids' spent some time looking at abstract paintings, discussing moods and colours. The children selected a colour palette to work on a large roll of primed canvas. Unconventionally, we decided to see what effects we could use, working with a strong pigment ink. Here, the children chose two tones of blues and a purple. At first the three girls worked independently in their own corners (with droppers and thin brushes). However, as the big decorator's brushes came out, the marks became dense and a sense of flow and wishy washy colours developed!
Taken early morning High Rock Park, Staten Island, NY. Title inspired by Justin Hayward's lyrics "Forever Autumn".
The summer sun is fading as the year grows old,
and darker days are drawing near,
the winter winds will be much colder,
now you're not here.
I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky
and one by one they disappear
I wish that I was flying with them,
now you're not here
like the sun through the trees you came to love me
like a leaf on a breeze you blew away
through autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way
you always loved this time of year
loose fallen leaves lie undisturbed now
cos you're not here
like the sun through the trees you came to love me
like a leaf on a breeze you blew away
a gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes
as if to hide a lonely tear
my life will be forever autumn
cos you're not here
Last night I started reading David Ray Griffin's new book about WTC-7, the "Achilles' heel," "weakest link" or "smoking gun" of the 9/11 fraud. Very few ppl realize Building 7 collapsed like a controlled demolition later that evening on 9/11. The government came up with a lame excuse ("fire") for the building to collapse at freefall speed. This would be the first high-rise steel structure to collapse because of fire.
Here's a quote from the introduction from Niels Harrit of the University of Copenhagen, who was part of a scientific team that wrote a paper on nanothermite in the World Trade Center dust (evidence of controlled demolition). I know exactly how he feels ("having no rest"), the day I discovered that the CIA killed JFK:
"It all started when I saw the collapse of Building 7, the third skyscraper. It collapsed seven hours after the Twin Towers. And there were only two airplanes. When you see a 47-story building, 186 meters tall, collapse in 6.5 seconds, and you are a scientist, you think "What?" I had to watch it again . . . and again. I hit the button ten times, and my jaw dropped lower and lower. Firstly, I had never heard of that building before. And there was no visible reason why it should collapse in that way, straight down, in 6.5 seconds. I have had no rest since that day." (Emphasis added.)
(Watch this really good video of Dr Harrit saying this & more, HERE.)
It's really hard to come up with titles sometimes... I used an old LP album cover as backdrop for this, so I stole the title from that. I hope the Moody Blues won't mind.

Some of my friends in my teens had collections of
The Moody Blues LPs. I never had any, but took
some of them on tape. - Years went by and now and
then I heard some of those old songs from the radio,
and they brought some old memories...
Now when I saw this LP in a local flee market, I couldn't
resist. Could I still - after all these years - have
one Moody Blues LP? - Yes!
This is somehow fascinating - and now I even understand
much more of the lyrics...
In these turbulent times it feels comforting to escape
for awhile into this escapistic world.
Nightingale, hovering high
Harmonize the wind
Darkness, your symphony
I can hear you sing
Of voices in the sky
Children with a skipping rope
Tell me what you sing?
Play time is nearly gone
The bell's about to ring
Voices in the sky
Bluebird, flying high
Tell me what you sing?
If you could talk to me
What news would you bring?
Of voices in the sky
Just what is happening to me?
I lie awake with the sound of the sea
Calling to me
Voices in the sky

An old Victorian villa near Sefton Park in Liverpool which I thought looked a bit creepy , even in the daylight . . . . . . .
I can see it all
From this great height
I can feel the sun
Slipping out of sight
And the world still goes on
Through the night
Cold hearted orb
that rules the night,
removes the colours
from our sight.
Red is gray & yellow white,
but we decide which is right
and which is an illusion.

Rarely do I see a full moon and not remember the hauntingly beautiful song Nights in White Satin with the spoken poem Late Lament.

A pipe cleaner escaped from the bag of Christmas ornaments I was sorting. Trixie recognized how dangerous it was to have such a thing loose in the house and took action:-))
This is video that I took and J worked his magic on. I wasn't using a tripod so the original video was rather shaky, but he has Smooth Cam to settle it down and make it watchable. Thank you, J!!
Music is by the Moody Blues. . . . so sue me, boys!
White balance 3000K to get the blue effect with CT orange filters (original included with the SB800) on the flash which restores the color balance to whatever the flash hits.
Used 2 SB800 flashes on low stands. one positioned directly behind the chair and one behind and to the left. Both are position just outside the camera field of view.
