Shortly after sunset on the Isle of Arran in Scotland

Argh. Got wet. The clouds came across and dumped their payload, but the clouds were just AWESOME...

Whoops... Horizontals are off... Oh well, c'est la vie.

Wanted to try for a more dramatic look but can not decide if it’s too “moody” now.

Looking Northeast from Ames Park across the Halifax River.

Last shot of the day. It was worth the wait. Rain is imminent.

I was hoping to find the big field that was here last year but only found a small strip and they were certainly past their best.

The approaching rain clouds added some atmosphere so quite happy how this turned out in the end.

Wildlife Management Area - Iowa

It was a dark moody day hiking the wilderness area on the north side of the park. The Canadian Geese are getting very noisy for nesting territorial rights. Once I showed up, they all left the marsh.

It was a cloudy day with little wind and quite pleasant. Once I left the marsh area, I could hear them back fighting again for nesting rights!

Winter casts its moody tones to our Cape Town sunsets. A sunset croporama

Sunset from Ashland CTA station on April 16th, 2019.

Moody Park was named after Richard Moody, the first Lieutenant-Governor of the Colony of British Columbia, though with the fog it suits the more obvious meaning to its name.

Hope you like it :)

Johnny :)

I visited this tree many times before. Its just outside a village called Bellerby where my parents have a cottage.

Didn’t manage to catch good light at Eilean Donan, but did get some lovely clouds for this moody shot, so not complaining!

Have a good weekend! :-)

Another snap from a recent trip to Scotland. Looking North across upper Loch Torridon towards Beinn Alligin and Liathach

We had a couple of brighter days, but this was typical of the weather that week. (Typical of Scotland at any time some might say but from experience I know that is not true!!) A bit dull and misty at times, but this creates an atmosphere. If I want to shoot photos with mood then I would take these conditions over cloudless blue skies any time! :-)

Marianne was out on a blustery evening with distant snow showers while the girls and I watched from the living room of our rental accommodation.

Colour and tone adjustments as usual, were done using techniques outlined in the video links below;

Fog has been persistent in the the Valley for past few days. You've got to take advantage of it. :)

A "moody" shot from a nearby field with some old oak trees.

Moody, tumultuous skies over Lake Erie as a strong front moves through on a warm, summer evening. Photo taken at Lakeview Beach in Lorain.

Not the sharpest of photos, since I took this with my little Nikon D40 & I underexposed this a bit. But, I've learned over time, taking a sub-par photo is better than not taking a photo at all.
