Alast minute decision to go to Porthcawl with my friend Gerald.the forecast was a bit of an unknown entity, and with it raining as we left home,i wondered as to wether we would be wasting our time.....

In her final year of service the Algoma Central Marine motor vessel "Algoway" enters Manistee Lake, after sailing in from Lake Michigan on the Manistee River. Looking rough around the edges with lots of rust the Algoway has been pretty much hauling road salt her last decade, which really has taken its toll on the old girl. Just before dawn moving slowly through moody surface fog she sails down the Lake toward a dock for her unload on August 8, 2017.

Everything was wonderful -- the sign, the service, our dinner, even the cookbook I bought.

banks of the Hoh river in the Hoh Rainforest - Olympic National Park"

It's been a while since I did a moody monochrome seascape so I thought I'd have a go with another shot from Sharrow Point on Sunday evening.

The early evening's moon today suited my mood. This ends up a bit moodier than I was shooting for since I left the camera on Auto-ISO. When I realized the error the moment was gone.

BTW I only slightly boosted the color.

Mostly daylight from the window, but a little fill in flash from my Nikon SB600 bouncing off the opposite wall.

I loved the moody low hanging fog at Multnomah late Monday afternoon. It appears as if the falls are cascading out of thin air and adds a ton of monochromatic drama to an already postcard ready real life Rivendell. Hashtag alliteration. Who cares if it's overshot and crowded, it's beautiful and a must visit for all my out of town friends. And the peppermint hot chocolate from the lodge is on point.

A moody image captured several weeks ago down at Clogher beach in the company of fellow Irish Landscape Photographer Rodney O'Callaghan. This lovely beach can be found along the beautiful Dingle Peninsula on the south west of Ireland in County Kerry.

Oh so moody and dramatic is the little rainforest trail area where the road ends at the Carbon River Entrance to the Mount Rainier National Park, in WA. The circular trail is very short but lovely. This is a single exposure, with polarizer. Thank you for your warm and kind visits my friends!

Colorful leaf on the dark ground

An incoming winter storm made for this moody Alta panorama. Usually gray days are terrible for winter mountain photos. But this one turned out to have very interesting light.

The islands of Northton salt marsh leading to Ceapabhal under a dark, stormy sky. The colours change here with the light and the time of year. I was drawn to the light heather green, contrasting with the darker green waters and the dark hill and sky.

Blue hour and the tide is ebbing out, leaving behind the ever-resilient sea defenses at the mouth of the River Mersey

This is Steetley Pier, Hartlepool, England. This was taken just as a big storm was rolling in. Me and my gear got covered in sand. The things we do for the photograph eh..?
