While strolling the Royal Palace in Bangkok, my wife spotted this monk resting in the shade at one of the gates. She gestured if she could take a photo of him and he nodded.
This and the Mber previously posted were confirmed to be genuine by Mber himself. Sitting in plain sight all these years later.

This is an image of a monk in prayer at the birthplace of the Buddha. It was taken at Lumbini, Nepal. This is supposed to be the place where Siddhartha Gautama was born. Siddhartha was the early founder of Buddhism who later became the Buddha. Three monks sit in front of the tree in constant prayer and meditation.
The monks are floating Krathong (lotus-shaped receptacle which can float on the water) to pay homage to the 'Triple Gems': Buddhas, Dhamma, and Monks.

In Buddhism, alms or almsgiving is the respect given by a lay Buddhist to a Buddhist monk, nun, spiritually-developed person or other sentient being.
It is not charity as presumed by Western interpreters. It is closer to a symbolic connection to the spiritual and to show humbleness and respect in the presence of normal society. The visible presence of monks and nuns is a stabilizing influence.
The act of alms giving assists in connecting the human to the monk or nun and what he/she represents.
As the Buddha has stated:
Householders & the homeless or charity [monastics]
in mutual dependence
both reach the true Dhamma....
