Eko-in Temple

The temple began as a memorial to the over 100,00 people who died in the Great Meireiki Fire in Tokyo in 1657. Today, it is still a place dedicated to victims of disasters as well as victims of crimes and to the souls of beloved cats.

A pair of Monk Parakeets agreeing to disagree.

Watching the monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery creating a sand mandala at Unity Church in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA. It is amazing to watch monks work on a sand mandala over a period of days. Their concentration and the creation of this sacred masterpiece is a prayer.

Also known as Indian Cress and Nasturtium. Medicinal plant of the year in 2013.

Actually I was expecting them to smile and initially they did. After a series of shots when all photographers chimped on their back LCD they started to get bored. That's when I took the shot,
