Outside of Oberhaid, a small town north of Bamberg. It's a small lake (or large pond) in the Hassberge mountains, a nice spot for a Sunday walk. [P1060803_lr_2000]

This Central and South American bird has taken up residence in some unbelievable places like Illinois and New York. This Happy looking fellow lives with 60+ of his dearest friends in a tree in the front yard of a lucky family in South Texas a couple miles from the Mexican border.

These sixty parakeets had built four large nests the size of a loveseat out of twigs in the canopy of a tree. The Monk Parakeet is a very social bird that seem to really enjoy one another, so they built a few of these large nest out of twigs that they live in. I have never heard so much sound emanate from a tree.

And isn't he the happiest looking bird?

Thanks for the visits, faves and comments its greatly appreciated.

A group of boy monks get ready to go back to their monastery after a game of soccer on the mountainside somewhere near Darjeeling ,India

I might have uploaded this or a different version of this shot long ago when I had initially joined Flickr. However since many friends have joined me since then I thought I might upload this again as this is one of my own favourite shots taken with my old Sony.

Another "gone in 60 sec" moment.....the quality of the photo is not so good, I had to do it fast, and to stay unnoticed....I was somehow embarrassed to interrupt this moment...I had a feeling that i found myself in the middle of old flemish masters painting....

Mönchssittich - Myiopsitta monachus - Perruche veuve

A nice surprice to see them nesting in the middle of Madrid .

Watching the monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery creating a sand mandala at Unity Church in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA. It is amazing to watch monks work on a sand mandala over a period of days. Their concentration and the creation of this sacred masterpiece is a prayer.

A pair of Monk Parakeets agreeing to disagree.
