ここは小樽運河のはずれです。毎日小樽運河にはたくさんの観光客がやって来ますが、ここまで来る人はあまりいません。たいていの人は観光バスがとまるあたりで記念写真を撮って、後はその辺の店でショッピングです。でも僕は小樽に来ると必ずここにやって来ます。この日も寒くてどうしようかと迷いましたが、結局来てしまいました。何故か？　それはこの場所に、よそ行きではない小樽の風景があるからです・・・・。

Lisa's R3000 laptop had the power plug stop working. It required disassembling the entire thing to install another or use the expansion port on the side for power. Commercial cables for that are $130-$220 and hard to find so I used this homemade fix I found on tomshardware.com forum using an old pci card I cut up, a $3.50 plug from radio shack and part of an old battery holder. Works surprisingly well, if I say so myself. I wish I could have hid the wires for a cleaner look but it works and saved the laptop.

The new LED is a Luxeon III red-orange, rated for 190 lumens at 1.4A - should be good for about 40 lumens at the normal EOS max power (300mA).

The superflash has a tighter beam, but the EOS seems to be putting out a lot more light (1w on the EOS vs .5w on the superflash). The PT EOS also has better water seals, and you can set it for low and medium brightness, as well as flashing), making it a lot more durable/versatile as a bike light.

The wires for the auto mode sensor were removed and replaced with a 47k ohm resistor. This converted all the auto (color) settings to a 1/8th manual power setting.
