Modeling chocolate (also called chocolate clay) roses edged in luster dust.

This model of an Egyptian boat is made of wood, but most boats of that time were made of papyrus. Papyrus is a plant that had many practical uses, such as: paper, vessels, and woven baskets.

Super Robot model. I think this was either a model given away at doctor's offices or some sort of model given away by a Japanese pharmaceutical company (the name of a pharmaceutical company is printed on the bottom flap).

It says "Super Robot #2" in Japanese. I think it's more "cute" than "super". Maybe even feminine robot?

First model shoot, just something I came up with during the session to include both photographer & model @ work.

Dave Abeles's excellent HO scale model empire, the Onondaga Cutoff (you can read all about it at onondagacutoff.blogspot.com) is truly a sight to behold- it's set in 1994 near Syracuse, NY and has all the Conrail blue anyone could ever ask for. At a recent operating session, I hung out to take pictures of the crew running the trains, which proved to be a real challenge given the low light, tight angles, and the fact that this wasn't really something I'd shot before! Still, I think I came away with some fun shots, like this one.

The interior.

The various levers and handles were fascinating. Nothing like today's cars:

There are 3 foot pedals: the one on the left is first gear when it is depressed unless at the same time the long handle to it's left is pushed forward, in which case the car is in second gear. With this pedal partly depressed, the car is in neutral. The middle pedal operates reverse when depressed. The pedal on the right is the brake.

The handle on the floor to the left of the steering wheel is an emergency brake when pulled full back, operates second gear when pushed fully forward in conjunction with the left-most foot pedal and, when upright, puts the vehicle in neutral.

The stick on the right side of the steering wheel is the "gas pedal"; the one on the left side advances - or retards - the spark.

Now isn't that just too simple!

Found this beauty at a Mustang Car Show at a fair in Pinellas Park, Florida.
