Location: The Veemgebouw in EIndhoven. This is very diverse location, where you can make beautiful atmospheric pictures, small shops focused on food.
This photo I made in a pub that is present at this location. On the left you have big windows where the light comes in and I played by vignetting in post processing with the light.

The photo was taken at the same location as an earlier photo where Vera is sitting on the stairs. In this photo she is closer to the lighting, making the light more intense and the background darker.
The daylight that shines into the building through a window ensures that her hair, forehead and nose bridge are nicely accentuated.
By turning her body to the shadow and her face to the light, she has direction where the light ends up.

It takes dedication and a fair amount of insanity to leave a warm, comfortable bed and room at 0630 on a Sunday morning to take part in a Carnevale sunrise shoot. Walking through dark alleys in Venice doesn’t worry me at all. It’s a magical feeling as long as you don’t step on dog poop. History all around me, it is something I never tire of and can’t explain it. 15 minutes later I’m at the shooting site along the Grand Canal, almost an hour before sunrise … and the place is packed with hundreds of models, photographers, and visitors. Don’t these people have a life? My respect and admiration for the models jumped. It takes some of them 2-3 hours to get ready. That is dedication. Here are some IPhone photos from this morning’s shenanigans. Chances are I’ll do it again tomorrow morning, only because my favorite bakery will be open on the way back to my flat. Enjoy!
