I did my first photoshoot today with a 'fashion' model - it was her first time at modelling too so we were both newbies at it. I think though we got some good shots between us.

Lightsettings:
To the left I have a studio lamp with an octabox and under her I have a reflector to soften the shadow.
Playing with the distance is a great way to give a photo the right impact. The distance can be made smaller by the model by leaning forwards and supporting for example on her elbows and the photographer can increase the impact in the photo by placing the eyes on 3/4 of the photo. As a result, a small piece of the top of her head falls away, but you almost get the feeling that you are sitting on the lip of the model.
