MALEFIC 6x17 cone modification (adding arca swiss compatible plate to the cone)

D300 Strap Mod

This is a modification (for the D300) of the mod I had originally thought up for my D80.

Edit: Online source for miscellaneous carabiners. Google did all the work- I can't say that I've ever used this site.

At the top of my wishlist ( and almost everybody else's) is the 1967 outfit 'Intrigue'. A fellow collector friend on FB, Kelly (who has an AMAZING collection of Mod Barbie' ) told me that Mattel had actually planned to release this outfit with a gold gun! It was to capitalise on the mania for James Bond 007 movies at the time - but nixed the idea, as they didn't think it was a really appropriate image for Barbie. At left is a very rare pic Kelly provided me from a Mattel shoot that happened a few years later. And even the illustration of the number 1 1966 booklet has Barbie brandishing a gold gun! I was also inspired by this outfit, back when I was a fashion student ( decades before I actually started collecting! I remember a much older cousin had this outfit for her Barbie, which is where I took the inspiration from, along with that wonderful cartoon character, Barbarella, also played by Jane Fonda in the very camp 1968 sci-fi comedy.) This was from my graduate fashion show... I wish the newspaper photographed the metallic trench I had in the collection instead!!

The blonde (Brigitte) is my first mod Barbie. She is a vixen who works as a school nurse. She is after Michael (Hawaiian Ken). The brunette is one of my favorites. I just got her this winter at my church antique show for $8.50. She was with a beautiful Francie.

Happy Wednesday! Here is Barbie wearing the second of the OOAK outfits from the Japanese sewing book. This one came out better because I learned from my mistakes. I love the oranges with her complexion and hair color!

Antenna!

Okay, it's a 433MHz transmitter... the antenna was approximately 3/4" long. Math says 1/4 wave is 6.1 inches long. (There's other antenna designs that don't need to be exactly that length, but as a first blush, 6.1 inch whip will do).

So here's the finished whip antenna (solid 18ga wire)

Effective?

I did a sidewalk test, basically... 4 shots in continuous mode, walk further away, 4 shots... if it fails any of the 4 shots, move closer until it passes all four-- synching at 1/800th.

The final shot, at approximately 63 yards (I ran into a car parked across the sidewalk, so that's as far as I went): www.flickr.com/photos/63856254@N00/348235560/in/photostream/
