Poster appealing for information about missing Gemma McCluskie*, Bethnal Green resident and former EastEnders actor. Sadly, it was reported on the news on 7th March that a torso recovered from the Regent's Canal in Hackney was almost certainly Gemma's (this was later confirmed), and her brother was being held on suspicion of murdering her.
UPDATE: on 30th January 2013 Tony McCluskie was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his sister.

Have you seen this china?
5 years ago, when we got married, my wife and I went to spend our wedding money in Colmar, in the Alsace region of France.
We were concerned at the time not to buy anything that wouldn't fit in the car on the way home. We saw this V&B "Citta & Campagna" Novi stuff on sale in the Colmar kitchen shop. You got a large plate, small plate, coffee cup and saucer, and a shallow bowl in a box. We liked it but only bought two sets, thinking we couldn't fit any more into the car (which was a Fiat Bravo at the time).
Little did we know that we would never be able to find the stuff again.
I found this pic on an australian web site. I don't think the chances are very good of successfully shipping a set from Oz to the UK and having it arrive unbroken, though.
My wife finished her work but can’t find out where the missing glove could be. Turned out the puppy next door knew the answer. The glove is now an orphan.
Eight years, one month, and twelve days. Finally, Sydney's first tooth is out. And it had to be extracted. It was loose for a while and the gums around it were starting to get infected, so the dentist pulled it out.
The man in the wellies came back from surfing, and he was whistling his dog all the time he got changed. Fifteen minutes later and still no dog.
We were just about to leave when a dark spec appeared on a hilltop, hurtled down the steep slope, swam the river, and shook itself dry. The dog then went to the car park and got in the back of the man's van. I do like a happy ending.
A switch panel found inside the kitchen of the Buckner Building. It would appear that an electrician is needed to make this work again.
--A bit of building info--
Once the largest building in Alaska, it was built by the military to house nearly every resident of the port town of Whittier, Alaska. It was designed to be a "city under one roof" and includes everything a "normal" city would have; Theater, Medical Ward, Cafeteria, Staterooms, and of course a jail... The town of Whittier is built around the ice-free port that houses more boats than it does people. Boasting a population of less than 300 people, Whittier is a modern day ghost town. In 1964 a 9.2 magnitude earthquake ripped the small city apart, killing 14 people and deeming the Buckner building unsafe.
Laced with asbestos, mold, mildew and various walking hazards, the building has remained an abandoned wasteland. All 5 floors are flooded from the melting of Whittier's average 253" of snow, leaving all floors an ice skating rink in the winter. Calcium deposits hang from the ceiling in the form of stalactites, graffiti and spray paint cover most of the walls, and almost every room has been hit with some form of a bat or axe.

On Monday night, a young woman in our area became missing. She was last seen walking home from work at a restaurant. Posters and emails are flying everywhere. There's a huge police presence, as well.
I was going to do a poutyface shot about the fact that I have not had a weekend to relax in well, since before last weekend, and this weekend is going to be busy, and I hate to wish my time away but I wish it were a week from tonight right now, AND I am sad because Dave is going out of town for 4 days on Monday and I have only been away from him for a few days three times and each time SUCKED and that includes when we met in person and before I moved here, and I DID get some pics like that but then I saw this and decided to try my hand at the CWD assignment, Digital Art.
My name is Tara, I like long walks on the beach, making out with my boyfriend, and run-on sentences.
Lost amongst a cluster of abandoned and tumbledown buildings next to the river Humber, Hull, is Riverside Photographic Studios, empty and derelict. Parts of the roof is missing, and upstairs the floors are rotting and dangerous. Amongst the collapsed ceilings and peeling paint are the remnant of a place that would once have been an impressive building. The last owners Anthony David Baines and family now operate a photography business in nearby Beverley.
On the way out of a lecture at what is now the Chazen Museum of Art, I walked by the wall where they memorialize the big donors to the museum. The problem, as we can see, is that there are some people who think they need a few of the characters more than the museum does. ---Sigh--- Other people's children...

I miss him so much that it hurts.
It’s only 1 month since daddy left us, but it feels like he has been gone for a year. I think about daddy every day, all the fun moments we had. I don’t know why daddy is gone, mom says it’s complicated and when daddy calls me we don’t talk about it. I can’t remember exactly where he is, but I know it’s 15.000 miles from here. I can’t wait to see him again and give him a big hug, but I have to wait for long time. When I’m crying mommy says that daddy will be home soon and everything is okay. But I don’t believe her. There are a lot of people who think that my dad can be evil sometimes, but that’s because he’s in pain. Mommy has told me a lot of times that daddy’s leg really hurts. I just think my daddy is cool. Because every time I fall and hurt my leg I start cry, but I have never seen daddy cry. Last time I saw daddy was in the airport, he gave me a hug and promised that he would come back. I’ve never cried that much before. Now I just hope that daddy will come home soon. The best thing about daddy is that he’s funny. He can always make me laugh and forget about the troubles. I hope I can go visit him soon… It’s hard to think that there’s 5 months left. Because I miss him so much that it hurts.
