My first 2010 rainy shot is for you dad. Even though you are not here anymore, but your garden is still alive, and growing :) and I really miss you!
In 1997 this tin sign was found in the attic of 437 7th St NW. The building had been scheduled for demolition by the General Services Administration (GSA). This is where Clara Barton managed the Missing Persons Office, locating soldiers missing after the Civil War. It is now being restored for use as a museum. Washington, DC.
The Clara Barton National Historic Site is nearby in Glen Echo - see Red Cross HQ.

must be post WWI …. seems to be missing turret #2...…. I think she was reduced to gunnery training duties like the USS Wyoming... I believe B turret and Y turret were removed along with most of her main belt armour…. actually attacked by German Bombers during WWII and beached by her crew to prevent her sinking.... scrapped Post WWII.....

The Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing was inaugurated on Sunday 24 July, 1927 by Field Marshal Lord Plumer. General Charles Harington, a colleague and close friend of Plumer, described the occasion in his book, Plumer of Messines.
A long procession of relatives wound its way through the Grand Place (market square) to the Menin Gate memorial to take their places on the eastern side of the Gate. Flagpoles on the recently rebuilt buildings around the famous square were hung with black flags.
Following on from the Town Hall the official dignitaries included Albert, King of the Belgians, Field Marshal Lord Plumer and the French General Foch. Hundreds of local inhabitants, veterans and relatives of the fallen British and Commonwealth troops were gathered in the Grand Place and along the route to the Menin Gate.
On the roadway which crosses the moat at the eastern entrance of the memorial there was seating facing the memorial for about 160 official guests and military representatives. On both sides of the seating area contingents from the Belgian and British Armies were on parade, together with British and Belgian military bands.

Ypres (now Ieper) is a town in the Province of West Flanders. The Memorial is situated at the eastern side of the town on the road to Menin (Menen) and Courtrai (Kortrijk).
Each night at 8 pm the traffic is stopped at the Menin Gate while members of the local Fire Brigade sound the Last Post in the roadway under the Memorial's arches.

But, don't talk to a dog at raining days.
So, don't talk to a dog at raining days.
Hello, Baby dog. She is gone.
I am living in the ' house of missing you'.
I am living in the ' house of missing you'.
But, don't talk to a dog at raining days.
So, don't talk to a dog at raining days.
Hello, Baby dog. She is gone.
I am living in the ' house of missing you'.
I am living in the ' house of missing you'.
