Caressing the marble and stone. Love that was special for one.
Church Island graveyard, Anglesey/Ynys Môn, North Wales.
The second in a small set of images around the theme of loss. Church Island is a small island in the Menai Strait on the shores of Anglesey to which it is attached by a short causeway that is reachable only on foot. The dominant feature of the island is St Tysilio's Church, constructed in the 15th century, and its graveyard. Continuing with the theme of loss, I visited the graveyard looking for a scene which evoked the mood to fit the theme. I again used a B+W 091 deep red filter to darken the sky to nearly black as it was a very sunny day which added drama to the shot.
The day Liverpool disappeared. Our view across the river from New Brighton mysteriously obscured by the mist. Very odd.
The Oriental Lily should open a 6 petal bloom that can spread up to 20cm in diameter.
A Rose, a Tulip, it can happen to all...
Sometimes, they just miss a petal and show us more!
Thank you for your time and comments, greatly appreciated, M, (*_*)

The rain is officially back and I'm thrilled. Here are a few shots I took on my lunch hour today. Oh, how I've missed the rain! It was difficult for me to narrow this down to so few shots. The world was adorned with droplets everywhere I looked. It appears Mother Nature hasn't forsaken me after all.
I hope you're all well. Take care ~ Beth =]
My effort for Macro Mondays on the theme of Pick Two. Delicate Pottery - my wife's dragons have delicate ears like this little chap who has lost one..
The Smoky Mountain's Foothills Parkway was first approved by Congress in 1944. Construction started in 1960. This week-end 1.6 miles of this road finally opened to the public. It has been known as "The Missing Link" because of environmental difficulties requiring bridges and the efforts/requirements to protect wildlife. While the Autumn colors are past peak the views were still stunning this morning.
I am missing seeing my beautiful dahlias. There are one or two hanging on but most have finished, including this one...night silence. I have a few more dahlia images that I may still post to brighten up my feed.

A quaint, picturesque old town nestled in a winter wonderland. The cobblestone streets, wind through the heart of the town. Historic half-timbered houses, their roofs blanketed in snow, line the narrow lanes. Twinkling fairy lights adorn the charming storefronts, inviting you to explore the local shops and boutiques.

I am sure the last time I drove past it was complete.
Reviewing an older shot of the area however it is possible this is a new one under construction.
Sorry I have been quiet lately - our 5 Grandchildren (2 - Six years old, 1 - Four yrs old and 2 - Two yrs old) have kept us very busy. Hopefully I will be back with more time soon.

12.4.14... our wee cat is still missing. I feel horrible. I keep imagining what could have happened to her. Tonight will be the third night where she hasn't been fed or warm or cuddled. We've put up posters and walked through the local woods but there's been no sign of her. My poor kitty. I'm a bit heartbroken.
Ashley pointed out this hilarious flier while we were wandering the streets of Williamsburg during my visit to NYC.
