I've been going to Ames Park for over 20 years, and have seen many changes. Some of the artistic elements have been destroyed by time and weather, or even vandalism and neglect, and it's a reminder to hold loosely to things and tightly to memories.
This owl carving, which appears to have been carved from a palm tree, or some kind of fibrous wood, has withstood more than some of the cement decorations, but this year its marble eyes have gone missing. I've wondered if they will be replaced, and have even considered replacing them myself, provided I wouldn't be accused of vandalism by doing so! I sincerely hope that the eyes came out because of all the storms we've had, and not someone stealing them.

Some significant rock falls just outside of Porthleven including this huge chunk missing from the path.
The Transalpina or DN67C is a road at above 2,000 m altitude crossing the Southern Carpathian Mts. and connecting Oltenia and Transylvania regions of Romania. The view around Parang and Capatanii Mts. is spectacular. The first road through these mountains was built under King Carol II and it is called The King's Road by the locals. Modern work to the road started in 2007 and it was almost finished by the time we visited. We traveled 148 km on it between Sebes, Alba County, and Novaci, Gorj County.
These things happen, you know.
Probably the first photo I've submitted in awhile suggesting my own loneliness.
It's not a longing for someone to love and love me in return - but for someone, period.
I hope that makes sense, though it doesn't have to at all.
I've grown up far too fast for my liking.

To me, this is the best season to visit Provence….Unfortunately, I can’t go there this year…But, every night, when I lay down on my bed, I smell it thanks to the Lavender Pillow that I’ve got from one of the smallest villages in Provence…. To the memory of my lovely Provence, I initiated a new photo series: Missing Provence. the miracle of light, horses,stars, water and shine is over... LEA 25 is left again... I will miss you like I never missed a place in Second Life before... :´(
I hiked several miles up onto the new section of the Foothills Parkway last January before it opened up to make these pictures. I believe it is one of the prettiest views of the Smoky Mountains particularly since you can drive there now that it is open.
This section of the parkway is known as the "Missing Link"
