My goal with this series is to explore every day scenes under the cover of darkness. A street corner, a lamp post, a doorway. Big city, small town, urban, rural. Man-made light versus nature’s darkness–––light and shadow interpreting minimalist settings in black and white. To see more in this series, check out Cover Of Darkness
A woman is sitting on the pier with a suitcase like she was waiting for a boat. She is looking at the sea hoping to see one.
Ashley pointed out this hilarious flier while we were wandering the streets of Williamsburg during my visit to NYC.
Between Blackfriars railway station and Blackfriars road bridge are the red-painted columns of the old bridge.
There are no flowers anywhere... certainly not here. It's almost as bad as missing a blue sky.

At Elk Island NP. We are so absorbed in checking our phones that we are missing out on the beauty of our world...
My fence is missing! The fences are being replaced, after 24 years, at my complex. All flower pots had to be pulled back. They are large and very heavy. Crystal strong like bull. Thank you Crystal.

Gerrard's Lookout, Maleny-Montville Road - Blackall Range, Queensland.
Boxing Day trip an hour or so north from Brisbane to the villages of Maleny and Montville for lunch, and shopping for books and artworks. Here looking due east from the range.
The Blackall Range dominates South East Queensland's Sunshine Coast hinterland, from where there are clear views east across the coastal plain to the Pacific Ocean and west across the rolling hills into the vast interior. This general area is very lush, with rich soils and plenty of rainfall.
Here the ocean is just out of sight, about 25 kms away, stretching out away from Mt Coolum, which is the very small hill (or bump) that can be seen in the haze right on the horizon, about one quarter of the way across the frame from the left hand side.
The Smoky Mountain's Foothills Parkway was first approved by Congress in 1944. Construction started in 1960. This week-end 1.6 miles of this road finally opened to the public. It has been known as "The Missing Link" because of environmental difficulties requiring bridges and the efforts/requirements to protect wildlife. While the Autumn colors are past peak the views were still stunning this morning.
