He always looks like this after a shift at work. The Techguys can be so dull. He is one of my housemates and people i live with. Similar to a hobbit.
Still warm but pouring rain today. These cows took shelter under the branches of a neighbour's trees but still looked fed up.

Having traveled to Tulameen with my friend Patty (vermillion$baby), via the Hope-Princeton Highway (Hwy 3), we came back via back roads until we hit Hwy 5, the Coquihalla, at exit 256, and that's when the bad weather started -- YUK!!!! (11-05-26-S0812)

We stopped in this town for some tea on the way to Srinagar from Kargil. I actually find it hard to believe that it is the "second coldest inhabited place in the world", but any place that claims that is obviously miserable.
Took a random boat tour in Bangkok with my friend Julia. We heard about many scams, but were interested in checking every part of town anyway - even the ugly and sad ones. At some point, the driver stopped and told us to go check the "crocodile farm". There is a famous huge crocodile farm in Bangkok - which I also don't know the conditions of - but this is not the one we went. Instead it was a small zoo with no infrastructure. The sad look on all monkey's eyes struck me. We left the place with a mix of shame for falling into that trap and regret for paying entry - therefore supporting it. What can be done to change that?
This image was taken in Bodrum inTurkey whilst i was on holiday. I observed his body language for several minutes before i went over to see him closer. He was rather friendly and craved effection from me!
Although he was sad and on a chain tied to a tree he had a good body condition. The place where he was chained was outside a restraunt, so i am usuming he would get the scraps of the left over food....

God, but my dog hates me sometimes. She threatened to call PETA on my ass if I didn't stop w/the damn dress up.
We went to see this show in NYC the night before the stage hands went on strike causing the show to close.
This is the ship Ole and Karen came to America on. They left Copenhagen on April 9, 1880 and finally got to Boston on May 7, 1880. The average Atlantic crossing time in 1880 was 6 to 8 days. This arduous journey lasted 28 miserable days!
Here is a narrative from "History of the West Denmark Lutheran Church 1873-1973, Luck, Polk, Wisconsin" that describes this journey from another couple's perspective:
"The young couple boarded the steamship Thingvalla in the summer of 1880 to sail to their new home. When the ship was no more than a couple of days at sea, it suddenly lost its propeller and began to drift northward out of the regular shipping lanes and into a sea dotted with huge icebergs.
"Day after day, week after week, the Thingvalla drifted among the icebergs with storms and squalls buffeting the ship and its helpless passengers and crew. Other ships that had left at the same time returned to Denmark with the distressing news that the Thingvalla had not arrived in America, and there was deep despair among the families of the more than 40 immigrants who had left Denmark on the ship. After six weeks of helpless drifting, the carefully rationed food was gone, and the despairing passengers and crew existed on hardtack.
"Hope was all but gone when the stricken ship was sighted by an English steamer, and noting its signals of distress, came to the rescue and towed the Thingvalla to a port where repairs were made, and the ship continued its journey."
