The face inspired to experiment within the theme of Victor Hugo. Do not know how far it went to establish the point.
An absolutely awful day for photos, but when I found out York Rail was running a coal drag with three GP15s, I didn't hesitate going out. Here 1532, 1531, and 1535 slug a train out to Spring Grove at Thomasville. 3/28/20
If you're trying to get to work, or in one of hundreds of thousands of houses without electricity right now, these are bad days. But for photographers, bring it on! Taken along the Delaware River in Philadelphia at the mooring site of the old tugboat Jupiter.
This was what I came across shortly after going out for a walk this afternoon ~ didn't walk too far, today!!
Stay Safe and Healthy Everyone!
Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... Thanks to you all!
This was one of those times when you look down in the midst of exploring an abandonment and notice something that seems totally out of place. Children's toys always grab my attention in these situations. Things that are meant to bring joy, happiness and comfort but now lost and left out in the elements, far from the safety of a child's loving arms. This one was looking water stained and faded, but somehow managed to retain a sense of fluidity in its frozen gesture.
It looks miserable by design. I tried to edit the photo in various ways but this original grey tinge just seemed to sum up perfectly how I felt because of the snow (I couldn't get to work to help my friend)
The We’re Here! gang is miserable today!
It’s cold, my hip hurts for some reason, and it’s starting to rain. I just want to get home, have a hot shower, and throw myself into today’s project: lemon macarons.
Not all holidays go as planned. Somehow this year you find yourself alone at home. Your dinner sucks, your relationships are failing and those anti depressants don't seem to be working. Pull up a chair and join us at Tannenbaum for a Miserable Holiday.....Leave your Joy and Good Wishes at the door please, we are trying to emo here ok?

We should get rain today, but at least we don't have to get to work like this guy. Havana, Cuba, March 2019

the song title wasn't a reference to the song, it was actually how i felt this week.

As February unfolds in these parts you begin to notice the gradual transition of the seasons. Winter isn't over, but we're past the darkest part. The sun has regained some height in the sky and you can feel its warmth on your skin. I love photographing bleak and dreary places at this time of year. The clouds are often thick and patches of partially melted snow add visual interest to the landscape. Tree branches are still bare, and ground level plants have yet to regain their shape after having been crushed by heavy snow. Grass shows only the slightest hint of green. The atmosphere here was about as bleak as it gets. The house and grounds were literally steeped in sadness.
Main Street Memphis is really an extension of Beale Street with restaurants and food carts, trolley tracks and outdoor eating. But on this evening it was just another miserable evening all around.
Had a chance to see Les Miserables today at The Stanley Theatre in Vancouver. This is the first time I've seen it and I really enjoyed it!
Photo isn't the best quality, but pretty good considering I took it from my chest without looking at the screen (was trying to be discreet).
