Today was the day for two WCRC 57s to have a very lengthy stretch of the legs - a 06:05 departure from Holyhead bound for Fort William! The Royal Scotsman tour draws into Llandudno Junction with ex-Arriva 57314 leading the way. It was necessary for me to shoot this capture to encompass the platform elements as this allowed me just enough light to freeze the loco with a shutter speed of 1/200th.

Just for future reference…if you ever want to make me unbelievably miserable, send me to the doctor and make them give me shots. Today was the last round of my immigration medical exams. It sucked. I had to get two shots. One in each arm. One of them hurt so bad that I actually was warned about it first. I wasn’t expecting it to actually hurt that much, but I had tears rolling down my face. And I have a high tolerance for needles. I also have really bad reactions to them. I am now fevered, shaking, achy all over and possibly breaking out in hives(or it may just be a heat rash, from the fever, I’m trying to decide). Figures this is the one night Ben has to attend a CPR course late at work. He is on standby if I need him to take me to the hospital. Oh, because did I mention that hives is considered a severe reaction to the shot? I can’t believe how amazingly bad I feel.
I want my Mommy. I can admit that.
well, it was a long exposure...so I couldn't move my face! I used to play this Burns Baldwin Vibraslim Bass a lot, I even pulled the frets out when I couldn't be bothered to buy a fretless...
