Millenium Bridge, London
An image from way back before I joined Flickr and before I knew much about processing (first attempt in my London album).
Always liked it so I thought I'd have another crack at it hence the album title... I'm sure more will be added to this one!
Or Saturn on the Tyne!
The Millennium Bridge (2001) with the Tyne Bridge (1928) in the background. The Sage Centre can be seen to the left.
This bridge over the Manchester ship canal is used on many images at Salford quays but normally shooting in the opposite direction, I would have followed that pattern if it wasnt for the moon sitting nicely through the suspension cables.
Prints available to view and order from my website:
The modern Millennium Bridge leading to the classic dome of St Paul's Cathedral in London. Long exposure shot to get rid of the crowds on the bridge.
Two lines of people here. One fast moving and one slow moving. I wanted a record of the far queue. This is the queue to see The Queen lying in State. When I took this the expected waiting time to reach Westminster Hall was 12 hours. This morning the figure is 16 hours and they are asking people not to join the queue.
Thanks for visiting.....
A long exposure shot of the Millennium Bridge and St Paul's, taken last Saturday, deep in the night, from the South Bank. The lights of a boat created the red trails that cross the frame.

Walking back across the Millennium Bridge to catch the Met Line home. By now both of my batteries were dead (one had been shooting long exposures all night in the cold and the other is faulty anyway and doesn't fully charge) but I had just enough juice in one to shoort this shot of the Millennium Bridge without anyone in the way for a few seconds.A passing boat beneath also lit the sides for a second or two as well.
As most of the other North Eastern Photographers were on the coast taking shots of the real Northern Lights I decided to take my own. Newcastle's Quayside on a Saturday night. (November the 11th 2023 at 8pm). This was cropped and mirrored for the previous upload >>>>>
Taken through the plate glass at Blackfriars Station. Making for home as the weather was taking a turn for the worse.
Regno Unito, Londra, Millennium Bridge, Primavera 2019
The Millennium Bridge is a steel suspension bridge for pedestrians crossing the River Thames in London, linking Bankside with the City of London. The bridge alignment is such that a clear view of St Paul's south façade is presented from across the river, framed by the bridge supports. The bridge has been the first pedestrian river crossing over the Thames in central London for more than a century. It has two river piers and is made of three main sections of 81, 144 and 108 metres with a total structure length of 325 metres. And it can support a working load of 5,000 people at one time.
When the tide goes out there is a ‘beach’ in London you can walk along. In some places it is muddy but here it is quite firm and sandy. The pigeons bathe and this is when to go mudlarking. Sometimes you can find clay pipes and bits of China and glass and I dare say other things too. The Thames is comparatively clean these days. Strange in the city to have this ‘beach’.

The Millennium Bridge, London.
The weather in London during our vacation was simply gorgeous. Very sunny, clear blue skies and warm. We took a nice walk along the Thames and I found this perspective quite interesting.

An early morning shot of the Millennium Bridge without any people crossing it and a nice blue sky above. The lines in the image are wonderful. Let me know your thoughts.
