This is an old 19th Century view from the pond created by a dam downstream. Water power was important to early Michigan settlers and most of the old towns in the area were selected because their locations had rivers and water power.

Hay que decir que aquà estuve unos 40 minutos esperando a que se moviera el sol para que diera esa luz rasante. Al pasar por allà vi el ángulo de la luz y supe que si esperaba tendrÃa esta imagen.
As I walked along the firetrail I was delighted to find an array of foliage … and then these gumnuts stopped me in my tracks. I love the webs. Wow!
Marsh Mill was built in 1794 by Ralph Slater. At that time there were 37 37 windmills producing grain across the area.
It worked up to 1922, latterly grinding animal feed. In 1957 it was sold to Thornton Cleveleys Urban District Council which later became Wyre Council.
After a storm blew off 2 sails in 1962 the others were removed, but by 1965 the council undertook renovation work and new sails were fitted and again in 2013.
In 1964 the Thornton Windmill Preservation Society was founded. A craft village was built around the mill which has become a visitor attraction.

May 23, 2011 - Mill Street Pilsner from the Mill Street Brewery in the Old Distillery District in Toronto, ON. This is usually a "tap only" beer at Mill St. but this one was included in a sampler pack. A unique, 355 mL glass bottle with a pry-off cap housed this offering.
It poured a deep golden yellow with a nice head and carbonation. A slightly sweet start ended with a hoppy finish. A nice progression.
Murrieta- KEA Milling -All the windows and doors on ground level are cemented up, so you cannot enter the building. On some nights you can see a girl about 15 - 18 years old sitting on the ledge of the middle window wearing a blue dress. If you look up at her feeling of sadness comes over you and you eyes get a little teary.

Got out a couple hours this morning and visited this mill near Beaver Lake in NW Arkansas. I'm standing on a pretty cool, old, one-lane bridge that crosses over this river (not sure which one).
This is another attempt at HDR for me. This one came out nicely, and I'm pretty happy with the detail, color and exposure.
The Cider Mill started out serving local farmers who brought their apples in horse-drawn wagons to be pressed. Today, it presses apples from all over New York State. It is open from August 16 to December 1, while apples are in season. It makes cider, doughnuts, pies and cookies, and is tourist attraction where you can watch the cider being made.
Raymond Roller Mill is applicable to the grinding and processing of more than 280 kinds of non-flammable and non-explosive materials with hardness less than 7 and humidity less than 6% in mining, construction ,chemical industry and metallurgy, such as barite, calcite, feldspar, talcum, marble, limestone, clay, glass. The fineness of the finished product can be adjusted from 100 mesh to 325 mesh according to requirements.
Working Principle:
The whole machine is collocated with jaw crusher, elevator, hopper, electromagnetic vibrating feeder, main unit, classifier, collector, cloth deduster and high-pressure blower. The working principle is as follows: load the stuff for grinding evenly and continuously into the grinding chamber of the main frame. Due to the centrifugal force in rotation, the roller swings go outward and presses closely upon the ring. The shovel carries the stuff to the space between the roller and ring. When the roller rolls, the stuff is thus grinded. After being grinded, the stuff is to be routed to the classifier along wind belt of the blower and the rough powder will be put back to the grinder for regrinding. The fine powder flows into the cyclone collector together with air flow and is expelled from the powder output pipe as product. In the grinding chamber, since the stuff contains moisture to some extent, the heat generated during grinding makes the moisture evaporate; since the pipeline joints are not airtight, the external air is sucked in and the circulation air mass increases. In order to enable the grinder to work in negative pressure, the increased air flow is guided to the deuster and sequentially to the atmosphere after purification.
