Also, look at the bike: the owner forgot to lock the front wheel to the bike, and now it's gone. Welcome to Amsterdam :)

A change of pace tonight, we took the girls to see the fireworks in Plympton so I took the opportunity to grab a few shots… I always think that fireworks need a little something else to give them context, so I lined up a shot with the family stood in front of us and luckily caught them with a nice arch of fireworks over their heads.
Taken earlier in the year on a trip to Northumberland in the little town of Amble. We had a stunning week of weather and I liked how this shot came out looking across to Coquet Island and Lighthouse
A beautiful Sunday morning hike at the Elena Gallegos Open Space offers stunning views of the mountains east of Albuquerque as the sun and shadows play with the peaks.
Sandia Mountains
I feel like I've been ignoring my local beaches recently so spotting the opportunity for a nice sunset I made a dash to Polhawn beach near Rame Head. This time of year the sun sets behind the land for most of Whitsand Bay but Polhawn is far enough down that you can still see the sun. Unfortunately the clouds on the horizon stopped any after glow but it was still nice to get out.
Tonight we have another lesson in double-checking your focus while you're on location! We had a trip down to Polhawn beach with the Camera Club and I was drawn to this fabulous patch of seaweed which contrasted beautifully with the sky... unfortunately I focussed on the horizon not realising that the rocks right in the foreground are going slightly soft... damn!
Quick photography opportunity at the end of the Bank Holiday weekend, led me local to home along one of the Bridges over looking the M40 at Blue Hour. I took a few shots during the evening but this was one of my favourites.
Dolosses at Old Colwyn, Llanddulas, North Wales
These have been installed to reduce the Costal Erosion along Old Colwyn. It was the first time I've ever come across these around our Coastline.

I have made several attempts to see Gerenuk over the years but have never been successful. This year I decided as I was already close by that I would head for Samburu where seeing a Gerenuk is almost a certainty. I was not disappointed.

Tuesday saw the first of our photowalks with the Liskeard Camera Club, each year over the summer break we try to meet up somewhere weekly and head out to take some images. Our first stop was Minions on Bodmin Moor and rather than head up to our default subject of The Cheesewring, Jon, Matt and I decided to have a look in the valley that sits between Stowes Hill and Goldiggens Quarry. I’m glad we did as we found a little treasure trove of subjects with plenty of fallen trees, old stone walls and other interesting compositions. Although I liked the warm glow of the sun hitting the tree, it’s definitely somewhere to return to in moodier weather conditions!
