For the group 114 pictures in 2014 # 105. In my wardrobe.
This is a watercolour painting done by me in the late 1990's and up to today, was residing in my wardrobe. As a fellow Flickr friend asked to see it ...here it is! Now out of the art folder and back into a frame :-)).
All our very best wishes go out to this wonderful racing driver and his family at this time. Flickr Grand Prix followers wish you well!

Get better soon Schumi!
Horrendous news. Here's hoping that he is back on the mend soon.
To all my Flickr friends - a very Happy New Year to you. I hope that 2014 is a great year for you all.
I am 99% sure I am not going to be doing another 365 this year, but maybe one a week is a more realistic target ;o)

Some more shots of the amazing Sauber Mercedes C11 Bi-Turbo V8, formerly driven by Michael Schumacher and Mauro Baldi.
One of my favorite shots from my weekend in Belgium watching the Spa Classic event organized by Peter Auto, this one of the brutal Sauber Mercedes C11, which dominated the World Sportscar Championship in 1990 using a Biturbo V8 engine. This particular chassis was driven extensively in testing by ex Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher and Mauro Baldi.
Thanks for viewing!
Pictured is a 2004 Ferrari F2004 Grand Prix Car.
It was driven in 2004 by seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. This car won fifteen of the eighteen races in 2004 (thirteen for Schumacher, two for Barrichello) to clinch both the 2004 Drivers and Constructors World Championships. Such was the dominance of this car that Ferrari beat second-placed BAR by 143 points.

NOTE ON GROUPS
Usually I'd post this to more groups but, unfortunately, the ridiculous new limit on the number of groups that a picture can be added to prevents this.
If any group admins would like the picture in their particular group I'm afraid you'll either have to invite it or remove the posting limit for your chosen group.
If you don't know about the new group posting limits that were introduced by the back door a few weeks ago and would like to change your group back to the way it used to be, here is the link on how to do it:--

As with many fans across the globe, I am anxious to hear positive news regarding Schumacher's recovery following his skiing accident. I've had the privilege of watching him race from the early 1990's until his most recent retirement. Yes, there were questionable events that took place on the track during his career but when he was "on", it was quite impressive to watch.

The Benetton B193 was a Formula One racing car designed by Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne, for the 1993 season and was powered by the latest Ford Cosworth HBA engine. It was almost six inches narrower than the B192 in accordance with new regulations and the addition of bargeboards at the San Marino GP it also had sidepods with a less pronounced cut-in for the radiator ducts. The nose height was raised from that of the B192, as well as having a longer and flatter rear 'deck' to allow for smoother airflow over the rear suspension than the B192. The standard rear-wing endplate profile was also changed, featuring a straight leading edge rather than the curved design of the B192. which changed later in the season with the addition of the 'forward wing'; an additional cantilevered wing used on high-downforce tracks,
The 1993 driver lineup saw Michael Schumacher retained from 1992 and Ricardo Patresse replacing Martin Brundle who moved to Ligier. In terms of performance it was an improvement on the 1992 car. Thanks to the more powerful engine, Michael Schumacher was able to consistently challenge the McLarens and on occasion challenged the seemingly unbeatable Williams FW15C. It was the last car to feature cigarette brand Camel as the team's main sponsor, before the long term sponsorship of an Enstone-based team with Mild Seven cigarettes. ended. Benetton eventually finished 3rd in the Constructors' Championship just behind McLaren but with a substantial gap to Williams with Schumacher and Patresse 4th and 5th in the Drivers Championship

Some more off shoe flash fun, but this time with 1 external flash that I'm more used to controlling.
Used the repeating mode here to get the trails of the F1 car and manually fired it again to replicated a rear curtain sync to "lock" the F1 model in place.
Tried simply relying on rear curtain sync mode, but having to move the car manually at the right speed to get the ambient light to come in and get the streaks was difficult, so I went for repeating mode and then manually fired the flash again near the end of the exposure.
I would have simply used Photoshop to add the streaks post process, but you know what, sometimes you gotta learn how to do these in camera to increase your skills, even if it is tedious.

Eddie Jordan, 1948-2025
Edmund Patrick Jordan, who has died aged 76 while undergoing treatment for cancer, was an energetic entrepreneur who brought a disruptive touch of rock and roll to Formula 1 in the 1990s.
Born in Dublin, Jordan flirted with the idea of joining the priesthood in his youth before embarking on a career in finance – more specifically, becoming a clerk at the Bank of Ireland. But Jordan was born to hustle, and this humdrum job could not contain him.
Pursuing a career as a race driver, potential sponsors were attracted by Jordan’s penchant for blarney but somewhat less engaged by his results on track, so Eddie abandoned the cockpit and founded his own eponymous team in 1980. It was a hand-to-mouth operation, especially in its early seasons, but Eddie Jordan Racing created opportunities for a young Ayrton Senna and Martin Brundle.
That wasn’t quite the end of Jordan’s racing career, though. Eddie had a passion for music – he was a keen and able drummer – and joined Pink Floyd manager Steve O’Rourke in a BMW M1 at Le Mans in 1981.
In 1989 Jordan ran Andrew Gilbert-Scott (later Takuma Sato’s manager) to second place in British F3000 and Jean Alesi to the European F3000 title. Formula 1 beckoned and Jordan assembled a shoestring operation in his Silverstone factory, where Gary Anderson, Andrew Green and Mark Smith designed a car, launched in early 1991 in black carbon fibre and named the Jordan 911. Porsche was not happy and the car was renamed the 191.
When driver Bertrand Gachot was jailed for spraying a London cab driver with CS gas during a road rage incident at Hyde Park Corner, Jordan’s problems were partially solved by a cheque from Mercedes to put its protégé, Michael Schumacher, in the car at the Belgian Grand Prix. Schumacher made such an impact that he was relocated to the Benetton team, but Jordan survived the winter and hustled through the following seasons.
Results remained patchy until the end of the decade, when Jordan enjoyed two fertile seasons in 1998-1999, including a dramatic win for Damon Hill in the wet at Spa in 1998. The following season Jordan finished third in the constructors’ championship, but this was to be his team’s peak. Jordan sold a 40% stake in his team to the private equity company Warburg Pincus, The team passed through a number of hands and now competes as Aston Martin.
“EJ brought an abundance of charisma, energy and Irish charm everywhere he went,” a statement from the Jordan family reads. “We all have a huge hole missing without his presence. He will be missed by so many people, but he leaves us with tonnes of great memories to keep us smiling through our sorrow.”
Michael Schumacher - Replica
The John Barnard designed F310 was Ferrari’s contender for the 1996 Formula One season and their first car with a V10 engine. Michael Schumacher achieved three victories, three second places and two third places, enough to take third place in the Drivers’ Championship and second in the Constructors’ Championship behind the dominant Williams team. Ferrari changed to the high nose configuration favoured by other teams partway through the season.
Ferrari is arguably the most famous name in Grand Prix motor racing. Enzo Ferrari had raced cars in the 1920s, going on to run a team of Alfa Romeos as Scuderia Ferrari in the 1930s. Ferrari became a sports-car manufacturer in its own right in the 1940s and built its first Grand Prix car in 1948. Since then Ferrari has won more World Championships than any other team.

Michael Schumacher during the 2000 Formula 1 Grand Prix Season.
He drove the Ferrari F1-2000 car designed by Rory Byrne for the 2000 Formula One season. The car was a direct development of the F300 and F399 from the previous two seasons, using the same basic gearbox and a new engine with a wider V-angle (90 degrees vs 75 degrees in the 048 engine). This new wider angle improved and lowered the centre of gravity of the car. It also featured improved aerodynamics, which put it on par with that year's McLaren MP4/15.
Michael Schumacher drove the F1-2000 to his third World Drivers' Title and Ferrari's first for 21 years. It also defended Ferrari's constructors' crown, and signified the start of the team's dominance throughout the first half of the decade.

Historie:

History:
On 23 December 2009 possibly the greatest comeback in the history of Formula One is announced. Michael Schumacher will drive again – but this time for the newly-founded Mercedes team. Together, a three-year plan was created with which the team should mature from a newcomer to a title contender. It was already expected that the 2010 campaign would not be an easy one. Michael finishes the season with the new Mercedes MGP W01 on ninth position.

The deciding moment of the 1994 Formula One World Championship at Adelaide, Australia.
By pure luck I just happened to be on the right corner at the right time when this happened.
Even more luckily, I had my camera raised and ready to shoot.
In fact, I'd been taking so many photos that I'd decided to slow down, and so I thought; "I'll wait until I can see two cars in the shot next time."
After I lowered the camera Schumacher's car came flying almost directly towards me - but there was no time to even think about it before it slammed into the barrier.
Afterwards I wasn't even sure I had the shot, or what it would show, until the film was developed.
Scanned from the negative.
