Many years ago, a widower got this bench made in memory of his deceased wife. I do not know whether he himself is still alive because he moved away some time ago. He left behind this bench the inscription of which says that he will always love her. Even when life's light is on red. Fuji X-E3 plus Samyang mirror reflex lens which is fixed at F6.3.
The setting sun, and music at the close,
As the last taste of sweets, is sweetest last,
Writ in remembrance more than things long past.
- William Shakespeare
The Tragedy of King Richard the Second

Remembering the laughter and the better times, the young ones playing on the porch or under the tree. All so busy now with no time for visits, except for Christmas. Still, it’s hard to put away those playthings….thinking “maybe tomorrow”.

One of my not so great childhood memories was learning the times tables! For some reason, known only to my brain lol, maths was really difficult for me. English I loved, could read before I went to school but maths would not stay in my head!! Another long lasting memory (showing my age now) is the school milk. Always in a glass bottle and dubiously warm in the summer!!
Thanks for viewing 😀
For Macro Mondays this week the theme is: inspired by a song. I wasn't so much inspired by one song but was listening to a Spotify playlist of golden oldies and the Beatles song 'Yesterday' came on. Nice to sing along and with it all the memories of days gone by. My eye fell on the little crystal cube with my mother's portrait engraved in it that was given to me at my mother's funeral in May 2019. I had not seen her alive since 2015 since she lived on the other side of the world. Sometimes nice to go down memory lane. And music certainly helps here.
Happy Macro Monday/ HMM

An art installation by Philadelphia local artist, Brian Bazemore, also know as B Casso, to commemorate the terrible year of 2020. It is located on the grounds of Hatfield House at North 33rd & Girard Avenue in Strawberry Mansion, Philadelphia.
Of all the cat's I've ever shared my life with, this guy was one of the best.
He was way more like a dog than a cat really. He'd follow us everywhere on the property and played with the dogs. He had such a great personality.
He died within months of Phil dying. Yeah, 2018 was not a good year here on the ranch
Today is Phil's and my wedding anniversary :-(. And it's a beautiful, sunny day out today so I need to go out and soak up some sunshine. Brush my horses, they are shedding like crazy, do some yard work. Things that lift my spirits. I'll catch up later. Have a beautiful day everyone!

Fynn was my soulmate and I loved when he looked at me like this. He was very sweet, generous, loved everybody but was also able to defend himself if necessary. Fynn passed away 3 years ago but I still miss him every day.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I watched on the beach as Mom and Dad piled the kids into a canoe to enjoy a sunset paddle before bedtime, and for a few minutes, the sky absolutely lit up in a brilliant display of color before fading into darkness. Camping experiences make great memories and I'm sure they all slept well that night.
The image is softer than I would like. I was pushing the limits of an old camera but it was the one at hand and the scene too nice to pass up.

as a little boy, with those quantity of glass marbles, I would have been very rich and all the little girls would have been very impressed :-)))
“Sometimes the little things in life mean the most.”
― Ellen Hopkins, Glass
Every time I see this image of antique glassware, I thank my husband's late mother. She was a collector, avid treasure hunter, and quite a character. By closing my eyes, I imagine I hear her explaining the excitement she felt when finding her various pieces of glassware or old dolls.
