my sister is in the group photo with a neighbor girl [the tallest one].
I found these negatives in an envelope with some old pictures. they are 70 to 75 years old and in great condition.

I suppose we all have memories of photographic opportunities that we didn't manage to capture. This man reminded me of a man I saw, dressed in black, running down the winding staircase of the Paris métro, Nation, an accordion hanging from his shoulder...alas, my camera was in my bag and although I tried to run after him, he jumped on a train and I lost him...
And so, I was happy to capture this shot instead, some time later!

St Mary’s Church - Hitchin
When I think of my hometown of Hitchin this is probably the one landmark that instantly pops into my head, in fact I think if you asked most people what’s Hitchin’s most well known and biggest landmark they’d all say this place!
It’s probably also Hitchin’s most photographed location too, I remember growing up as a kid sitting in the churchyard gardens eating my lunch, feeding and watching all the bird life, as well as many resident squirrels in the gardens and watching the world go by, I think most of us spent our youth in and around this church in some shape or form.
It was a bit of a Christmas tradition that we’d walk from my Nan and Grandads to the churchyard gardens to feed the bird life and then head back for tea!
Another memory as a kid was hearing them bells ring would often mean another wedding had taken place and everyone used to line the streets for a glimpse at the bride and groom.
Funny how one particular place can bring back so many memories I guess you can say this place has been a huge part of my life, even though I don’t live in Hitchin anymore and haven’t done for the last 5 years having moved to Essex I still class Hitchin home and probably always will do☺️
The first image I ever took that just made me excited that I took it was here at this location. It is still in my stream today. That was about 40 years ago, and it was enough to make we know I wanted to capture moments for a long time to come. As a side note that was the only image on that roll that wasn't just completely ruined. I have seen stories about the Honor flights where they fly Vets to go see DC. Its an amazing thing to see.
I went out and tried to take photos today, but it is so cold, windy and blowing snow I never got more than six feet away from the vehicle. Brrrrrr....
My baby boy, Ishmael at Moissac in southern France. Ish died in 2014 and Moissac seems a distant memory due to Covid travel restrictions - HSoS!
My granddaughter had this picture of the newspaper article and sent it to me. I think this was 1957. I had good success at stock shows at Trent ,Abilene, Dallas and Houston Texas. Wonderful memories
