Making my first Adeptus Mechanicus casting. The polyurethene resin sets spectacularly fast - it was clear when I went to get my camera, but had gone this cloudy a mere 90 seconds later.

I had some latext left over after pouring the first mould, so quickly made up some extras from some bitz I had handy. It's a good thing I did since I mixed up a bit too much resin as well.

I need some decently sized Adeptus Mechanicus symbols for a terrain project I'm working on. The problem? No one makes the damn things any more. So, the only solution is to make my own.

I'm building the base model out of balsa wood and other stuff I have lying around the place, then I'll take a mould off it and make as many as I need! Theoretically :)

Scratch 98% plastique

I painted the upper radiator much the same way as the lower one, and shaded and highlighted the Cog Mechanicus prettily to provide a focal point. Need to weather the reactor dome a little but it's nearly time for some assembly work.

Once the pose is set at the waist it might be worth it to paint a little light from the lower radiator onto the upper vent box?

Oh yes, and the exhaust stacks are in need of detail painting and weathering too.
