In a pioneering step towards sustainable offshore wind energy, the BOEM Environmental Studies Program collaborated with the BOEM Office of Renewable Energy Programs on the study: 'Evaluating Effectiveness of Nature Inclusive Design Materials (AT-22-09).'
This project tests innovative materials for cable and scour protection, which are used to safeguard installations and foster marine growth and enhance fish habitats. Aimed at mitigating the environmental impact of offshore wind farms, this study is integral in determining the balance between energy development and marine ecosystem preservation.

ARTIST MATERIAL FUND
October 27 – November 20, 2022
RECEPTION: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27 / 5-7PM
Come get some FREE building materials, tools, and art supplies at AMF at artLAB Gallery.
Founded in 2014, the AMF is a service that relocates material and diminishes waste produced in the art industry, while providing resources for artistic production. Rooted in cooperation and mutual aid, the program supports and promotes the sharing of under-used goods to realize their full, potential value, builds more efficient studios. It’s a platform that operates outside of the capitalist, consumerist model, and strives to create one viable alternative to the common issue of fiscal precarity and ecological irresponsibility. As an economically and environmentally responsible redistribution centre, the service gives raw workable material another life by collecting materials from cultural institutions across Southwestern Ontario, making them free and available to artists and individuals in the community.
The rules are simple:
First-come, first-served.
There is no limit to what you can take.
Take only what you need.
It is pick up only.
We do not accept unsolicited drop offs.
We do not deliver.
You don’t need to be an artist to collect material.
We’ve got lots to go around.
A community engagement project by Suzanne Carte, the AMF is supported by the Art Gallery of Burlington (AGB). This edition of the AMF was curated by students in MCS4691 Waste Stream/Waste Dream.

If you need to handle the materials, no matter vertical lift, horizontal movement, or 360-degree rotation movement, you can find idea material handling equipment and tools at TITANSUHE to move, control, and store your materials. As a professional material handling equipment factory, we supply a wide range of equipment used for material handling and material handling supplies to lift and move the individual cargo or palletized load in factories, warehouses, shipyards, and other occasions that need easy lifting and handling of the materials. From the best cost-saving hand chain hoist, hand pallet truck, manual stacker, lift table to the high-efficiency electric hoist, electrical stacker, and diesel forklift, you can find the best solutions from TITANSUHE for cargo weights from 500kg to 50000kg, and the lift height up to 6 meters or higher. Through the years, our engineering team dedicates itself to the continued updating of our products with the latest lifting tools and equipment technology. We successfully developed a chain hoist with overload protection, a pallet truck with extremely low noise that is mostly used for hospitals, hotels,s and schools, a small turning radius forklift for less operating space, a mast with a free lift, and so on. Our engineers have rich experience in the material handling field and can give you very professional advice when you have any questions.
Material Handling Equipment MHE Advantages
Material handling equipment wholesale (MHE) refers to the various tools, machines, and vehicles used for transporting, storing, and controlling goods in manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations. Here are some of the advantages of using MHE in these environments:
MHE helps increase the speed and efficiency of material handling tasks, reducing labor costs and improving overall productivity. For instance, automated conveyor systems can transport goods quickly and efficiently, while forklifts and pallet jacks can move large and heavy loads with ease.
Improved Safety:
Material handling equipment helps improve workplace safety by reducing the risk of injuries from lifting and carrying heavy loads. Equipment such as cranes, hoists, and lifts provide a safe and efficient way to move heavy materials and goods.
Enhanced Customer Service:
Using MHE can improve customer service by reducing order processing times and improving inventory accuracy. This means that products can be delivered faster and with greater accuracy, leading to increased customer satisfaction.
Cost Savings:
MHE can help reduce labor costs by automating material handling tasks and reducing the need for manual labor. Additionally, using MHE can help reduce product damage and shrinkage, which can save money by reducing the amount of wasted or damaged products.
Increased Flexibility:
Material handling equipment provides greater flexibility in handling a wide range of products and materials. For instance, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) can handle different product sizes and shapes, allowing for greater flexibility in warehouse layouts and storage options.
Conclusion
Overall, using MHE can provide numerous advantages for businesses involved in material handling operations, including increased efficiency, improved safety, cost savings, increased flexibility, and enhanced customer service.
Selection of Custom Material Handling Equipment
Before select a material handling equipment, you need be clear of the properties of your material. Whether it is solid, liquid or gas and how it is packed, on pallet, in drum, container, bags or like that and whether it is fragile, corrosive, etc. These information will decide you to chose the right equipment and handling process.
You need to know how heavy the material is and then select the material handling equipment with enough rated load. All types of material handling devices are prohibited to operate with overload.
The dimension of the materials you are going to handle is also important to get the right material handling equipment. For example, most of the cargo will be stacked on pallet for efficiency handling. The pallet jack truck are all structured with stand foot so that the truck and fork in to lift the pallet and move. The distance between the foot will decide you to use pallet truck with wider fork or with narrow fork. Generally, we provide pallet truck with 685mm fork width and 550mm fork width.
Most of the material handling devices have a minimum turning ratio. The larger the equipment, the bigger turning ratio will be. So, you need to chose the material handling equipment with proper turning ratio according to your passageway width (the width of travelling area)
Cost effective is also the most consideration to select your material handling machinery and equipment. How to select the equipment that can help you to finish the job with the cheapest cost. Contact our sales team or engineering team, we will give you our professional advise.

Surface mantle of new soil material.—A technical phrase used to describe a particular kind of recent surface deposit. The deposit is composed of mineral soil material at least 50 cm thick, has a zone at least 7.5 cm thick at its base that fails the criteria for any diagnostic horizon, and is underlain by an older soil with a sequence of one or more pedogenically developed horizons. The presence of a surface mantle of new soil material is a requirement for recognizing a buried soil for purposes of soil classification. Where a surface mantle of new soil material overlies a buried soil, the soil profile essentially contains two soils, a newer one overlying an older one. Special care is needed to correctly classify such soils. Specific rules are provided in chapter 4 of the Keys to Soil Taxonomy. See buried soil and buried horizon.
Figure 114.—In his profile, the surface mantle of new soil is about 60 cm thick over a buried soil with well-expressed genetic horizons (an ochric epipedon and an argillic horizon). The buried soil is a soil profile of the Helena soil series located at the head of a drainageway that is receiving overwash (local alluvium) from the surrounding eroding sideslopes. Note the uneven surface of the Ab horizon formed by fast moving water at the time of initial overwash/deposition.
