INFO:
The Peak Forest tramway was an 8-mile, horse-drawn railway in North Derbyshire, installed in the late 18th century to help transport materials between Dove Holes Quarries and the Peak Forest canal, which began at Bugsworth Basin. The barges would then convey it forth through Furness Vale and New Mills onward to Manchester.
The tramway ran its last truck in the 1920s and since then, the westernmost 2-mile portion between Chapel-en-le-Frith and Bugsworth Basin has became a footpath and bridleway, allowing hikers, cyclists, and...erm, horseriders to enjoy this historical industrial byway.
Heading east, the tramway path can be entered at Charley Lane in Chapel Milton, taking you for two miles along a tranquil pathway to the canal basin at Bugsworth.
The route, despite its age is not without relics - it actually prides itself in retaining the railways original stone sleepers for most of its stretch.
Several road crossings still survive, along with an embankment and an arch bridge on the approach to Bugsworth Basin. Here, an impressive array of former sidings still remain, along with original loading docks. One of the trucks meanwhile now has a home at the National Railway Museum in York.
I asked for a model & my co-worker came thru for me. Although he was unsure of posing & whether to smile or not to smile, he made my job easy by going along with my vision.

Remida promotes the idea that waste materials can be resources. The center collects, exhibits, and offers alternative and reclaimed materials, obtained from unsold stock and rejects or discard materials from industrial and handicraft production, with the aim to reinvent their use and meaning.

Darker tile in middle is Veranda from Dal porcelain, to go on center water wall and spa dam wall. Longer blue tile is Island Stone linear glass for shadow boxes behind WF. Same color/8" tile as water line. Mosaic is Walker Zanger Mantra 5/8" to go on spillway of spa, bench seats in spa and firepit accent.
Lighter colored ledger is Rustic cladding sandstone from Island Stone to go on walls adjacent to center. Firepots will top those.
Wood is Ipe Double Wide Deck Tile from EcoDecking. After much research and consideration, we ditched doing a conventional wood deck for pathways using the wood tiles. We'll add beach pebbles for borders.
