March Photo A Day Prompt 7: Something You Wore

My very old converse - these things are close to 27 years old - very old skool - very purple (and these were made in the usa, not taiwan or wherever it is now) by far my favourite shoes.

Day 2 of March Photo A Day Challenge

This is #2 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "fruit."

A bag of apples.

This is #3 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "your neighbourhood."

I tried to take photos in my neighborhood today. But, it was such a gray and rainy day that I couldn't get a photo that I thought was suitable. So, I took this photo of my computer screen displaying this aerial photo of my neighborhood. My house is the one marked with the orange pin.

I entered the Epiphanie Camera Bags Picture It photo contest. bit.ly/xN3Pqc

This is #1 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "up."

One of the two stairways at my office, which is a converted Catholic school building.

March 7 - What I Wore. I took todays photo theme a little serious. Almost anything you would want to know about my past can be told by looking at What I Wore in the past. So I opened an old jewelry box and here is what I found.

Ingraved identifcation bracelet from a high school girlfriend. An AID's awareness button I used to wear in memory of friends who died from AIDS. A U.S. Flag I wore on my lapel after experiencing 9/11 in Washington DC. Two watches. One from someone I used to date, the other a gift from a job farewell. Two buttons in plastic boxes commerating years of Federal job service. Two white S's and a white star from from my time as a Lieutenant in the Salvation Army. Two blue S's from my time as a Soldier in The Salvation Army. My 1970 high school graduation ring. Wedding rings and various other rings from various relationships. A Realtor's lapel button I wore when I sold real estate. Some political buttons and two humorous buttons showing I do have a sense of humor.

I guess this shows what a pack rat I am also.

This is #23 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "moon."

I think that the creator of this challenge was playing a trick on us... there's no moon tonight!

Instead of the actual moon, here is a photo of a favorite album from 1978, Emmylou Harris' "Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town."

I like a lot of different genres of music, including some country. Emmylou Harris is one of the best of her generation.

Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" has had a lot of wide-spread attention because of Whitney Houston's version of that song. Another great Dolly song is "To Daddy," which Emmylou performs on this album.

I rank Emmylou's version as a 5-star song in my collection.

Give a listen to this live version...

This is #20 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "before and after."

This is a photo of the bridge construction on Cumberland Street in Westbrook near the Sappi Paper Mill. As I understand it, the plan is to build a temporary bridge (the one with the cranes on it) and tear down and rebuild the existing bridge (the one with the pickup truck on it).

I like this photo because I'm fascinated with cranes. I also like the perspective of the photo shot through the chain link fence. The paper mill smoke stack interests me, too.

Technically, this is a "before and during" shot. The "after" won't be available until the end of 2013.

This is #22 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "kitchen sink."

The iPhone takes grainy night photos.

Day 7 of the March photo a day challenge

This is #28 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "trash."

There are several of these green metal benches around the river walk in Westbrook. I've featured them in photographs many times (see links below). This is the first time I've noticed a matching trashcan.

This is #10 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "loud."

For driving music, I usually like something loud and upbeat. Today I was listening to a mix disc which includes Janet Jackson's "Feedback."

"Strum me like a guitar, blow out my amplifier

When you hear some feedback, keep going, take it higher

Crank it up, give it to me, come on

Crank it up, give it to me, come on"

This is #26 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "your name."

I occasionally purchase promotional products from Shads Advertising. Last year, they sent me this gift... a personalized notebook.

In honor of my husband's 38th birthday, I am wearing my new Floppy Diskette shirt from shirt.woot! It gives me great joy. And yes, I do remember using 5ÂĽ" disks.

(I took this photo just to show him while he's underway, but then I realized today's theme was "something you wore" so I figured I'd use this one. And now you can see the bathroom cabinet I photographed for last month's theme.)

This is #21 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "delicious."

Kon Asian Bistro on outer Brighton Ave. in Portland is a favorite place for lunch or dinner. I had lunch there today. For my Rhode Island friends, there is another Kon Asian Bistro in East Greenwich.

This is #25 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "breakfast."

I didn't check ahead to see what today's photo was supposed to be. It wasn't until well after breakfast that I realized what I was supposed to photograph. I usually have eggs for breakfast. But, occasionally, I grab one of these Power Crunch bars if I'm in a hurry.

This is #14 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "clouds."

Thankfully, I knew what the challenge was in advance. I checked the weather forecast. Since it was predicted that we were going to have gray skies and rain all day today, I shot this photo yesterday.

i don't know how to do the split screen, so i posted 2 photos.

this is the after shot! i made these duvet covers for the girls. we just got the new bunkbed so my youngest could move out of her toddler bed....which meant they did not have matching comforters. so a couple pairs of new sheets and custom made covers to match! green for gracie and pink for sarah!

This is #19 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "funny."

"Modern Family" is consistently a laugh riot!

This is #16 in a March photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "sunglasses."

The sunglasses didn't seem necessary today, but...

Day 12 of the March Photo Challenge: Candy.

My sweet 5 year old decided to eat 50 of these "great tasting" sea gummies with OMEGA-3 in them. When I asked why he did that, he said he "forgot" they were vitamins, because they tasted so good. Nevermind that he got the "child proof" cap off, but how much OMEGA-3 did he consume? Well, as it turns out, there is actually very little omega 3 in the chews. 10 of them are about 1 infant RDA. So, he ended up with about 2X as much as he should've had in one day. However, 50 of these chews has a grand total of (wait for it...) 75 g of sugar! So, in the end, they are just glorified candy. See if I ever buy this crap again.

That's me when I was 3 years old and me today at 52 ..... no, I did not wear braces to straighten my teeth and I didn't bleach away my freckles .... my adult teeth came in straight and my freckles are still there just not as dark ... damn, I'm cute no matter what age ... lmao!!!

Fatmumslim's March Photo a day challenge.

Monsters of our own creation are the worst kind: doubt, self loathing, regret, and on the list goes. These beastly creations haunt all of us, and are always ready to offer their destructive perspective. From a distance these monsters look almost comical, like grossly drawn caricatures of stereotypes; yet when they whisper in our ear on a dark day they feel all too real, all too familiar, and as though their perspective couldn't be anything but right.
