Porepunkah is a town in north east Victoria. Built along the Great Alpine Road, at the foot of Mount Buffalo, it is 320 kilometres from Melbourne. It is part of the local epicurean region and features several wineries. This includes the Feathertop Winery which features a gourmet restaurant and views of wonderful grapevines which turn red and gold during the autumnal months.
It is outside the Feathertop Winery that this pretty row of deciduous exotic trees stands. They were too beautiful basking in the afternoon sun not to stop and photograph.
Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.
Friendly warning that the next season is on the way. I always like to imagine winter may not come every year, but then get the snow shovels out, just in case it comes early!
I want to thank each and everyone who took the time to visit my little space here on Flickr. Have a super day!

"Autumn arrives in early morning, but spring at the close of a winter day." - Elizabeth Bowen

The sun was shining, the temperature was warm and only a t-shirt was needed outside today.
It was a great day to be away from the office and I'm happy to report that I spent the majority of the daylight hours outside, doing yard work, but still, outside!
It was glorious! I have my fingers crossed that we get at least a couple more nice days like this before autumn turns into winter.
Hope everyone has had a great (Canadian) Thanksgiving!

Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour like this English Maple which I caught on the turn of changing from summer to autumn livery one sunny early Autumn day in May.
Melbourne has experienced a wonderful Indian summer this year, and as a result, not only are there still plenty of beautiful blooms about, but the Autumnal colours are starting to appear.
the other day I saw a huge shadow fly over my back yard... then I spotted a Blue Heron standing over my pond!! He flew up into the tree for me to get the shot...
then I had to stomp through the frozen 6" of snow and net the pond... once they know there is free food, they come back!!
First sighting of a Rose-breasted grosbeak for this year. I didn't recognize the silhouette and when I saw what was in the shadow, there it is. It was all alone and only briefly choose the most hidden part of the pond's stream for a drink and bath. It stayed in the budding Maple trees for the rest of its time in the yard.
The hard working volunteers maintain a cluster of log cabins, a schoolhouse and numerous barns and outbuildings at the historical village at Caesar Creek Lake in southwest Ohio. Termites, overgrown invasive shrubs and the weather all provide year long challenges. One of the fundraisers is a pancake breakfast with maple syrup sourced from a grove of maple trees located on the north side of the village. The shadowy building to the right serves as a restaurant for events.
