This praying mantis has been hanging out on our door very doggedly for the last couple of days. One morning it was chilling on the doorknob, and since then it's been reappearing on the dutch door ledge. Um, not that that's annoying or anything. When I was taking our farmshare picture today, it was flexing its wings at me, which... I didn't realize mantis had wings? This bug is weird, yo.

Some of the autumn color on Fama Drive.

There was a gardening group on the street in the '50s and '60s called the Fama Pines Gardening Club. All of the original members have passed on. But much of their legacy remains in the Japanese Maples, Roses, Azaleas and Dogwoods. Unfortunately, English Privet, and English Ivy are becoming more prevalent.

Even as the leaves die, they provide majestic colors, shapes, and textures.

The graveyard was covered with leaves, but there were still millions more on the trees.
