Maple what? Marindo? Never heard of? This is a Chinese car!

Some more leaves from my collection in the fridge. These are (yes, they are) Japanese Maple Leaves collected at the Dallas Arboretum.

They were lit with two studio lights and a large, diffused flash umbrella to only leave a wisp of shadow.

槭樹科槭屬，分佈於台灣全島低及中海拔 700至2200 公尺的山地闊葉林內。落葉大喬木，枝皮及幼樹幹皮是綠色，青楓是由於幼樹幹皮呈綠色而得名，幼樹樹皮略平滑，長大樹幹皮變為灰褐色，長粗時會漸變成灰褐色，並且出現縱裂紋，小枝帶紅色、平滑，小枝葉片與側枝呈水平的扁平狀伸展，有整齊的層次感。葉脈間初時有短軟毛。葉具細柄、對生、紙質，輪廓為圓潤形，長７～８公分，寬９～１０公分，呈五至七掌狀裂，裂片三角狀，有小鋸齒，葉柄長約2公分餘。常令人混淆的是金縷梅科的"楓香"，最容易分辨的方法是「楓香」葉互生或叢生於枝條頂端，果實為具有芒刺的圓球型蒴果，青楓則是葉對生，果實為翅果。在大雪山森林區內數量不多。

One of the pet Maple trees started changing colors right on cue with the equinox.

Maples (Acer spp.) can be some of Autumn's best standouts. This particular Acer saccharum (Sugar Maple) popped with several shades of yellow as the light found its way through the oak-hickory canopy of the wooded hillside. This was taken with a 28-135mm Lens.

Maple got her new DollShe purple urethanes, and we had to go take pictures outside to show of their lovely colour! It's her first time taking photos outside!
