The maples aren't really at school - just across the street! This is 黒沢尻西小 (or Kurosawajirinishishogakkou) in Kitakami City. It translates to "Black Spring Buttocks West Elementary School." I can't imagine where that name comes from!
(34.365) The end of the Japanese Maple Challenge! has finally come. Shooting the same tree every day for seven days presents a fun and unique challenge - being both remarkably easy and difficult all at once.
I was hoping to come up with something different today, but time and weather weren't cooperating with me. So I ended up with this macro. I can't say for sure what I wished this picture was, but maybe when I do, you'll see it on here.
Now back to finding other subjects for the 365 Project. Only 331 days to go.
I love the red in this leaf, reminds me of fall and the red Poppy for Remembrance Day.

Looking east from steps at Maple Grove Boat Launch, Camano Island (South Skagit Bay).
Photo taken at 8:12 AM on 28 Dec 2011. High tide at nearby Crescent Harbor, Whidbey Island was 13.1 ft at 7:56.
Went on a photo trip with the OCC, Orangeville Camera Club, to Algonquin Park.
We all had a great time hiking the trails along the corridor.
