Took this a while back and it looked pretty...bad. That's why I didn't look at it for a while. But now I like it (not because I edited it, which I did, but I just...I like it now). This is a red maple leaf tree I think is what it's called. :D

This photo was taken next to Lien Animal Clinic in West Seattle.

I drove to Ohiopyle State Park in southwest Pennsylvania on the weekend and was amazed by the fall foliage that has POPPED! Simply amazing! I am quite lucky to live out here with the great fall colors in the abundant forests in the area. I used the Orton Effect I learned from Darwin Wiggett on this shot to give a more painterly-like image.

This Japanese maple, in Camden, in southern Arkansas USA, was planted in memory of my nephew Will. Will left this life while still a teen. We miss him. His tree is growing to be a lovely memorial.

The undulating lines of the branches of the maples are eyecatching. Very unmodern. Curl, curl, curl. Blossom after blossom. William Morris would like this and so do I.

The Norway maple leaves are piling up on our sidewalk. This was taken with my scanner, not a camera.

I walked through maple groves that were largely pink. Some are still gree. Some maples are deep cardinal red. Still others are salmon colored. And some are orange and ocher colored. It is wonderful. And the light from different times of the day give it all new shades.

Caught this maple leaf floating by the dock this morning.

Maples trees grow everywhere on Vancouver Island. Some forests consist of all maple trees with big, green leaves.
