Observations of the Maple in the yard.

Finally autumn has really hit my backyard. I just love it when the japanese maple tree turns colors.

I just want to share some of my photos of my experience of Japan, so we can all think about all the Japanese people affected by the disaster. If you feel like donating a few £'s I'm sure it will go a long way to help ......

Spotted these while discussing the meaning of life on the philosophers walk.

Maple walking cane relief carved with vine and leaves top to bottom. The hand shaped handle is made from our crab apple tree. So,, How do you get rid of your yard waste? View large to see the detail better.

Even though the wind blew most of the early GREAT colors off of the trees it made for some nice fallen leaves. While this is the season for colorful scenes I decided to process this as a B&W because I liked the texture in this maple leaf.

There is still some color here and I am hoping that the greens that remain will pop some late October color for a nice phototrek this upcoming weekend.

I will catch up with everyone as time permits. Apparently I "spend too much time" here on Flickr per my wife, so I am trying to be a better couch potato now. LOL!! HAAAAAA!!

A maple leaf blown by the wind, and caught and held by a patio door screen.

"O wild West Wind, thou breath of Autumn's being,

Thou, from whose unseen presence the leaves dead

Are driven, like ghosts from an enchanter fleeing, . . ."

Seasons greeting from bigtooth maples at Lost Maple State Natural Area.

This rather well-known Sugar Maple was planted by pioneers who settled in Yosemite Valley. It's located across Southside Road near the Yosemite Chapel. The huge tree was at peak color when I was there. Unbelievably intense glow in the afternoon sun with bright red, orange and yellow leaves. Getting an image of it without people in the shot was very challenging. View on black at Flickr River
