I thought the original plain picture of a colourful Maple leaf looked a bit bare so I later decided to include some other leaves / trees within the composition to form the image you now see.

I am a bit disappointed in this one.
I used an iridescent Daniel Smith color for shading and the camera picks it up blatantly!
In my painting you cannot see all that blue!!
I thought the painting was somewhat successful until I downloaded it to my HD.
Editing only made it worse, so I went back to the original, and so this is straight out of the camera.
I love Japanese Maple colors..and next time I wont use the iridescent.
Morning light on a group of birch trunks surrounding a maple tree in peak color. These little scenes were everywhere as we drove up and down the country roads in the U.P.

Some maples with red colors can also be found in this areas. Not much but when it turn color it look amazing.

Alongside the pure maple syrup in the previous photo, the maple doughnuts were a much-in-demand-item at the Highland Maple Festival in Highland County, Virginia. I had heard they'd be worth waiting in line for, and they did not disappoint! I bought these at Eagle's Sugar Camp in Doe Hill.
