Happy Spring...after the snowfall, things are brightening!

Curious babies and toddlers can press their hand to this heat sensitive panel and watch the colors change!

(Toys that allow a child to manipulate it with fingers and hands can be categorized as a manipulative. Manipulatives involve coordinating the eye to what the hands are needed to do, stimulating fine motor development.)

Cotton jersey, interfacing, organic cotton

batting, embroidery thread, thread &

metal snaps mounted on plexi.

“Manipulate” challenges the various forms

that a quilt block can take. Rather than

repeating a block to create a tiled effect, 16

half moon quilted shapes (in essence the

block) were created with a snap in each

corner. These shapes were then snapped

together and manipulated into an origami

like sculpture.

Best when viewed in higher resolutions. This was like an extreme wide angle, but turned on its edge. It covers about 180 degrees of my view that day.
