The original RAW file was processed with Adobe Camera Raw and final adjustments were made with Photoshop CS6.

This old building served as a bank and a grocery store in its past despite the sign reading "Cushing Hotel, Rooms & Meals, Est. 1924". The building was never a hotel. The sign comes from when a 1981 TV movie was filmed here. Unfortunately the roof and interior walls have collapsed and only the outer shell remains.

Make some room ho, keep a hunnid feet away.

The fruit and husk of a physalis plant f22 / ISO 200 / 1 sec - the fruit is roughly the size of a cherry tomato and in this image it is backlight by a small flashlight hidden by the POV.

This is an image from last year that I re-processed in B&W for the Capture Oakville photo contest. The final juried selections were based physical prints and 2 of my entries made it to this stage (Iridescent Leaf was my other shot).

I hardly ever make prints of my images and I highly recommend taking some of your favourite shots and getting them printed at a good size (in this case 16"x20" prints). It is a very different experience seeing them physically in print. Your local camera club or camera store can probably recommend a quality print shop to make the prints (avoid the big box in-store labs).

This shot won a honorable mention in the B&W category and both prints are on display at the gallery of a local cultural centre along with 80 other photographs from the competition.

Overall it was a great experience - I learned a lot about the printing process and it forced me to look over my work for the past year with a critical eye.

I made this blend a WHILE ago, I forgot all about it :)

Even though caught by surprise, a middle-age man grins and makes a hand gesture of approval as I take his candid photo while he is having a chat with another guy.

That other guy is at the porch of his house by the highway. He, on the other hand, is sitting on the saddle of his bicycle cart which he parked on the roadside in front of the said house.

Captured in mid-morning at a village in Subic, Zambales, Philippines.

gotta say I totally agree here....I have heard the saying "make love not war" but this was the first time i'd seen it put so matter of factly !! bahahaha
