Living right next to the beach offers the amazing opportunity to see the sun set over the ocean for 28 straight nights.
On the brink of blue hour the GND Filter on my 14mm lens really made sense. So I was walking knee-deep in the water for about an hour with Camera and Tripod on one hand while my baby was enjoying the sound of the waves on my back. Kind of fascinating for both of us :)
This island of La Gomera is hidden behind the smaller rock formation.

It is being said that a picture is worth a thousand words and it is very true statement, however what if you put thousands of pictures together ? This trip was dedicated to meet with my family and to take pictures of the amazing volcanic landscapes within the Atlantic ocean. The photograph was taken at the very first evening, when I have arrived at the airport, took the rental car and drove up to the Caldera de las Cañadas. This is a huge volcanic crater at 2000 m over the ocean and with 17 km in diameter. 500 meters high rock walls form the crater rim. In the middle of the crater, the Pico del Teide rises 3715 m over the ocean. A very otherworldly scenery.

Buachaille Etive Mòr (Scottish Gaelic: Buachaille Eite Mòr, meaning "the great herdsman of Etive"), generally known to climbers simply as The Buachaille or The Beuckle, is a mountain at the head of Glen Etive in the Highlands of Scotland. Its almost perfect pyramidal form, as seen from the A82 road when travelling towards Glen Coe, makes it one of the most recognisable mountains in Scotland, and one of the most depicted on postcards and calendars. Buachaille Etive Mòr takes the form of a ridge nearly five miles (8 km) in length, almost entirely encircled by the River Etive and its tributaries. The ridge contains four principal tops: from north-east to south-west these are Stob Dearg (1022 m), Stob na Doire (1011 m), Stob Coire Altruim (941 m) and Stob na Bròige (956 m). Stob Dearg and Stob na Bròige are both Munros; the latter was promoted to Munro status by the Scottish Mountaineering Club in 1997.
The steep, craggy north-eastern face of Stob Dearg forms the classic aspect of the mountain as seen from the Kings House Hotel, and constitutes the most direct route of ascent for climbers and scramblers. Buachaille Etive Mòr is separated from its sister mountain of Buachaille Etive Beag to the west by the valley of Lairig Gartain. To the east lies Glen Etive, which provides an alternative route of ascent, heading up steep grassy slopes to the summit of Stob na Bròige.

Isle of Skye - The Quirang is a fascinating rock formation on the Trotternish peninsula on Skye. It is approximately two miles north west of Staffin and six miles south east of Rubha Hunish. The Quiraing is a spectacular landslip on the eastern face of Meall na Suiramach, the northernmost summit of the Trotternish Ridge on the Isle of Skye. The whole of the Trotternish Ridge escarpment was formed by a great series of landslips; the Quiraing is the only part of the slip still moving, the road at its base near Flodigarry requires repairs each year.
The Trotternish Ridge lies on Skye's northernmost peninsula known as Trotternish. The northernmost summit on this ridge is known as the Quirang which has a fantastic maze of pinnacles, cliffs and flat grass tables that were formed by an ancient landslide of biblical proportions. From below these cliffs look huge, upon closer inspection you find many intricacies - scree slopes provide entrances to reveal an intricate maze of deep chasms and huge rock walls.
Those of you that think that you'll come to Isle of Skye and you'll be welcomed by light like this, might be disappointed. You can get your share of rain rather than this wonderful light. Even thought the plan was to hike for one whole day around Quirang, the reality was that due to the weather condition we had only one early morning with such a wonderful light. I nearly didn't have enough strength to get out of bed after several days of late night shooting and early mornings. Mind you that sunset is around 11PM and sunrise around 4AM in June, you can imagine how much sleep you get when always try to capture the best light. Landscape photography is not an easy job, but with results like this it is definitely worth it.

Capturing Northern Light is always wonderful but very stressful moment (you never know how intensive it will be in few seconds, where it will go etc). Finding a good place that would nicely compliment this natural phenomen can always be tricky. This rather well known viewpoint was one of the few on my wishlist. The night before, when I was also lucky with the Aurora, it was just dancing on a very different place. Luckily this particular night it perfectly complimented the composition.

This spectacular rock formation is built up from a former volcanic chimney and is up to 200 m high. It is located approximately five kilometers south of Pico del Teide right on the Las Cañadas plateau, a crater (spain: Caldera) with a diameter of 17 km. In the background you can see the crater edge with heights of 200 to 600 m. This is of such big scale, that you can hardly see the road which leads right through the crater's bottom.

The Icelandic horse is a breed of horse developed in Iceland. Although small and often pony-sized, they are considered horses by most Icelandic breed registries. The breed develops late, but is long-lived and hardy. The breed was developed from ponies brought to Iceland by Viking settlers in the 9th and 10th centuries. Horses were worshipped in Norse mythology, and these beliefs were brought to Iceland by the original settlers. The Icelandic breed is mentioned in both literature and historical records throughout Icelandic history, from the 9th century on, with the first historical reference to an individual horse appearing in the 12th century. Selective breeding has been used over the centuries to develop the breed into its current form. Natural selection has also played a role, with the harsh Icelandic climate killing many horses through cold and starvation. In the late 18th century, much of the breed was wiped out in the aftermath of a volcanic eruption. They are still used for traditional farm work in Iceland, as well as for leisure, showing and racing.
It is difficult to say which is my favorite shot from my trip to Iceland, however series of these shots of Icelandic horses in the mist must be one of the most mystical photoshoot ever. I remember that we drove back to Reykjavik from already amazing time at Seljalandsfoss Waterfall (where I got rather wet from the ever present spray of water). As it was nearly sunset time I was getting more and more restless about the right location for the setting sun. As we drove along the road we noticed group of horses on the field with the mist that was slowly picking up. Icelandic horses were on top of the list of shots I wanted to leave that amazing country with. I managed to get some photos with reasonably good light and background before this moment, however I could have never imagined situation like this. Some shots can be carefully planned and executed, some will never repeat itself, this is definitely one of those. Part of that amazing experience was also the chance to watch how the whole scene “grew on us”. If I was there with a person that is not into photography, I would have taken one or two shots and got back to car. The freedom to explore the whole scene and situation with someone that has the same interest (obsession) gave me opportunity to emerge into the moment and capture better and better photos (completely forgetting that I’m taking photos across sharply wired fence in rather high and very wet grass).

Middle East - GCC - United Arab Emirates - UAE - Dubai - City modern skyline with Burj Khalifa - برج خليفة - Khalifa Tower - Skyscraper & tallest man-made structure in world at 829.8 m (2,722 ft)
Middle East countries are known for their clear cloudless skies with little drama happening in the sky most of the time. When that happens you still have to find yourself on a good enough spot like this one ;)

Iceland Waterfalls are perhaps the country's most recognizable series of attractions. They're everywhere! Its collection of waterfalls rivals any other country in sheer power and raw beauty. The falls range from powerful and wide river-type monsters like Dettifoss, Gullfoss, and Goðafoss to tall and narrow ones like Glymur, Háifoss, and Hengifoss. Moreover, the country sports classic waterfalls such as the rectangular Skógafoss as well as unique waterfalls such as the trapezoidal Dynjandi. And these are just the famous ones! There are countless other waterfalls tumbling by the Ring Road as well as many more that don't even have formal names!
The waterfall Skógafoss is situated in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline. After the coastline had receded seaward (it is now at a distance of about 5 km from Skógar), the former sea cliffs remained, parallel to the coast over hundreds of kilometers, creating together with some mountains a clear border between the coastal lowlands and the Highlands of Iceland. The Skógafoss is one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls of the country with a width of 25 meters and a drop of 60 meters. Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days. According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area, Þrasi Þórólfsson, buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall. A local boy found the chest years later, but was only able to grasp the ring on the side of the chest before it disappeared again.
I have captured this place during my previous visit to Iceland but I surely could not miss it during the last trip. This time I got the bonus rainbow and a lovely couple standing at perfect place to give the whole scene a scale.

Comet 2022 E3 (ZTF) at top, as the green fuzzy star above the semi-circle of stars marking the constellation of Corona Borealis, the Northern Crown. The comet was approaching the Sun and Earth at this time (January 3, 2023) and was brightening, but even here was visible in binoculars and sporting a short dust tail and cyan-colored coma. ZTF = Zwicky Transient Facility, the telescope used to discover the comet in early 2022.
The bright star at bottom is Alphecca, or Alpha Coronae Borealis.
The field of view is 15° by 10°, so larger than a binocular field.
This is a stack of 8 x 1-minute exposures with the Canon EF 135mm lens at f/2.8 on the Canon Ra at ISO 1600, all on the Star Adventurer 2I tracker. Shot from home just after 6 am on January 3 during a brief hour of darkness between moonset and the onset of dawn twilight. Star glows added in post with the Luminar Neo Magic Light AI filter.

Driving along Tosenveien between Tosbotn and Lande in Brønnøy, Nordland, I didn’t expect to see any aurora that night. Heavy clouds covered the sky, but the northern lights were so powerful that they occasionally broke through the overcast, painting the night in shades of green.
Fun fact:
Tosenveien is part of County Road 76, connecting the inner parts of Nordland with the Helgeland coast. The area is known for dramatic mountain landscapes, tunnels carved through solid rock — and on rare nights like this, a glimpse of the aurora glowing through the clouds.

The little village of Elgol is one of the most photographed parts of the Isle of Skye. Elgol is an increasingly popular destination for climbers and hill walkers of all levels due to its unparalleled access to the famous Cuillin Hills and the various smaller hills dotted around wherever you look. Elgol is a crofting and fishing village in the Strath area of the Island. The small, sparsely populated village is scattered along the final mile of the road from Broadford.
Though you may never have heard of the little fishing and crofting village of Elgol in the Scottish Highlands, there is a good chance that you have seen photos of Elgol's famous mountain and seascape scenery in postcards, Scottish books and even film scenes and television programmes. From the larger Skye village of Broadford many visitors have turned down the enchanting Elgol road completely unaware of the magnificent scenes that await them around almost every corner. The 15 mile journey over twisty single-track roads will take you past High Pastures Cave, one of the most significant archaeological finds in the area, then sweep you around the corner to the ancient, historical site of Kilchrist church
Every mile you drive on your journey from Broadford to Elgol will fool you into thinking that the scenery simply cannot be bettered. However, you will be proved wrong when you arrive in Elgol and reach the shore and the little fishing harbour. There is simply nothing on earth to compare to the site of the Cuillin Hills beyond the Elgol shore - a breathtaking view whether it is sunny or stormy.
There are various opinions as to the meaning of the name, 'Elgol' (or Ealaghol in the native Gaelic, some suggesting 'The Noble Dale' and others 'The Weeping Swan' (folklore details the story of a Viking captain who perished when his longboat named 'The Swan' came to attack the people of Elgol).
