St Mary's Lighthouse, near Whitley Bay, is on a tidal island which is linked to the mainland by a concrete causeway which is submerged at periods of high tide. The lighthouse and adjacent keepers' cottages were built in 1898. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1984.

Reached between the tides via a short causeway from the car park, St. Mary's has all the fascination of a miniature, part-time island. Visitors can climb the 137 steps inside the tower to the lantern room to enjoy spectacular views along the North East coast of England. If you cannot manage the steps, a live video facility allows you to experience the same panorama at ground level.

One of those spectacular sunrises with fantastic colors. Just dont be fooled by the color of the lighthouse, it is not sunrise colors reflected, it has rather unusual purple color illumination.

Durdle Door is one of the most photographed landmarks along the Jurassic Coast. This rock arch in the sea was formed as a result of the softer rocks being eroded away behind the hard limestones, allowing the sea to punch through them. Eventually the arch will collapse to leave a sea stack such as those that can be seen at Ladram Bay in East Devon. Below the cliffs lies a sweeping beach that was once three separate coves.

Europe - UK - United Kingdom - England - Somerset - Weston-Super-Mare - Coastal town & seaside resort with 2nd highest tidal range in world, which can be up to 15 meters - Causeway to Knightstone Island during extremely high tide - Sunset time

This is one of those unique locations that I never forget to arrive to. I got there with this high tide photo in mind, however when I reached this seaside town, I saw the sea being literally miles away from the shore. I thought to myself, how will the sea come all the way from there (miles away) to here, and go high enough to cover this walkway. It did at the end, as it was full moon when the tide is always the highest. Later on when I did some more internet research I found out that this place has the 2nd highest tidal range in world, which explained a lot. Very unique place !

The left side of this photo is where the sea water remains during low tide, so the people can still swim, when the sea is far away again. Very useful invention, which can be found in some other English locations as well as in Brittany, France where tidal difference can be very significant too.

spotted this and quickly grabbed a shot trying to look nonchalant as the owner was in the yard. I am sure this homemade structure is rather unassuming during the day, but then the magic light appears and Bam! there's the money shot :)

It is known that the numbers never determine the quality of the images, but this week has made me especially happy to pass the 10,000 followers in my Flickr gallery and more than 7 million visits.

So, thank you very much to everyone!

I leave you today with this self-portrait of last July of my series realized in the Beach of the Garrofera.

Located inside the Natural Park of the Albufera offers a kilometer and a half of fine sand, to the shelter of the dunes.

On the technical side, say that I only used a neutral gradient three steps filter.

Fourth picture of my series "Marjal Reflections".

You can see the difference in a few days with my two previous publications, the rice plants are grown and out above the water, the green flooded all around.

This time a perspective from the start of one of the "tancats" seeking the lights and reflections sunset of my dear Valencia in these grooves where they spent tractors, to guides lines to the horizon where the sky gave us this wonderful spectacle of light and color.

On the technical side, say that I only used a neutral gradient three steps filter.

If there is a place, most photographers wish to capture Northern lights, it surely must be Jökulsárlón - the Glacier Lagoon in Iceland. Very special location to visit any time of the day or year, especially when there are giant icebergs flowing into the ocean (which is not necessarily all the time). Imagine the best conditions for Northern Lights - clear sky with millions of stars reflected on perfectly mirror like surface of the lagoon, no wind, temperature just below freezing, then you get I what I got last time around.

Europe - UK - England - Cornwall - Carnewas & Bedruthan Steps - Stretch of stunning coastline located on north Cornish coast between Padstow and Newquay with Sea Pink or Purple Sea Thrift Flower in bloom growing wild on Cornish coastal cliffs

If there is a perfect time to travel to Cornwall or Devon coast, it is surely during end of May/beginning of June. Those wonderful and very resilient pink flowers burst into full color during this time. It is a wild flower growing on many of these impressive high cliffs. It is a joy to add them to the foreground to what is already incredible landscape. The only downside to this is that days during this time are some of the longest of the year, with extremely early sunrises and rather late sunsets, with the light fading very slowly, so dont count on too much of the beauty sleep during such a trip.

I share today another picture of this series, some Fridays ago in this location, this time a horizontal view.

First lights of the day, which I already wanted to catch this perspective view, giving a lot of attention at the foreground guiding the look towards the horizon and the sunrise at the left of the scene.

On the technical side, say that I used the combination of a ND four steps filter and a soft gradient ND three steps filter.

Sometimes, when you shoot a location, you get some interesting images from the place. They are very similar, but they are not the same. They both have similar light, the same subject, common elements...but they are different.

In some cases, you can't decide which one you like most, in fact some days you prefer one and the next day your choice is the other.

In Iceland that happens very often, you love the location, you shoot some photos, and then you can't decide....every place is so gorgeous!!

This is the case with a previous shot of Stokknes I already uploaded some time ago, which you can check here (and in the first comment of this post).

A veces, cuando se fotografía un lugar, se obtienen algunas imágenes insteresantes a la vez de ese lugar. Estas fotografías, pese a ser muy similares, pero no son exactamente iguales. Las dos pueden tener una luz similar, el mismo sujeto, elementos comunes... pero son muy diferentes.

En algunos casos, no se puede decidir cuál de las imágenes es más atractiva, de hecho, hay veces en las que te puedes decantar por una y al día siguiente de la elección es la otra.

En Islandia, eso sucede muy a menudo, encuentras un lugar genial, disparas algunas fotos, y después ya no puedes decidir ....

Por ejemplo, eso ocurre con una foto que subí anteriormente sobre Stokknes, que puede comprobar aquí (y en el primer comentario de este post).

I drove home from a triple-digit temp Southern Utah road trip on Tuesday and I'm heading out on another adventure later today. Before I leave, I wanted to share this photo from Monday evening. The day started with a cop waking me up at 3 AM with a flashlight in my face and telling me I had to move my camp. The temperature that day topped out at around 108 F. It ended with this. Life is weird and amazing. Don't forget to slow down and soak it in.

Magical summer sunset at the port of Catarroja -Valencia-.

A very good evening with clouds, lights and reflections in the water.

I wanted to match the frame the sunset and moonrise.

On the technical side, say that I only used a neutral gradient three steps filter.
