Sojiji Temple in Ishikawa
諸嶽山 大本山總持寺祖院(しょがくさん だいほんざんそうじじそいん）
700年余もの昔に開創された日本曹洞宗の中心道場
ご住職の夢枕に、僧形の観音様が現れ、
「酒井の永光寺に瑩山という徳の高い僧がおる。すぐ呼んで、この寺を禅師に譲るべし」
と告げて、姿を消されたそうです。
かねてから禅院にしたいと念じていた瑩山禅師は、入山の要請を快く受けいれて、諸嶽観音堂に入院します。

I believe my 90% of shoots are horizontal and I preffer always this, but I think at this case, the composition is better here.
What do you think about it? (Compared with the another last pictures)
Dawn on the El Sombrerico Beach, several minutes before sunrise.
The name of this amazing beach is due to the huge rock shaped like a wizard's hat that juts into the sea.
There are not many photographs of the area, may be because access to this beach is a little difficult, so after driving about 20 minutes fully night by a bad gravel road, you reach this cove by small cliffs headlamp in my head.
For this shot, I was lucky clouds drew lines in the sky and I could compose from that angle.
To reach this picture in one unique Raw, I combined a for steps neutral filter and black card technique.

I have discovered this brand new wonderful mountain road to the highest mountain of UAE several months ago. I wanted to capture it bit differently than most, so I went for the super long exposure of 170 seconds to get the long light trail of cars. I originally thought that I might have to wait long for any cars to come up or down as it is one way road leading only to the top. I had no idea how popular this place is with people driving up and down all night long ! (I stayed there for full moon timelapse sequence)
This wonderful place is also featured in Night Sky around the World Time-Lapse Video among many other interesting and unique locations around the world.

Fourth picture of my series "Marjal Reflections".
You can see the difference in a few days with my two previous publications, the rice plants are grown and out above the water, the green flooded all around.
This time a perspective from the start of one of the "tancats" seeking the lights and reflections sunset of my dear Valencia in these grooves where they spent tractors, to guides lines to the horizon where the sky gave us this wonderful spectacle of light and color.
On the technical side, say that I only used a neutral gradient three steps filter.

Windy desert is always great to experience and capture, just the camera is not always happy. This part of Sahara desert might not have the biggest sand dunes, as those in Merzouga, but it is way less touristy these days, so it is wonderful to spend some time there. The sky in desert is wonderfully dark with minimum light pollution, which gives a great sight, which you can also see in the

Fjallsárlón is a glacier lake at the south end of the Icelandic glacier Vatnajökull. Fjallsjökull which is part of the bigger glacier reaches down to the water of the lake and some ice-bergs are drifting by on its surface.
It is situated not far from Skaftafell National Park and the better known glacier lake Jökulsárlón. From the glacier lake Breiðárlón a little river flows into the Fjallsárlón.
Above, there is looming the famous volcano Öræfajökull.
When it is cloudy and the water is calmed, the image of the icebergs are mirrored on the lake's surface. The possibilities for photography thanks to symmetries are infinite with this conditions.

Fjallsárlón es un lago glaciar, en el extremo sur del glaciar Vatnajökull en Islandia. Fjallsjökull, que es la lengua de ese glaciarque llega hasta el lago, rompe y va dejando bloques de hielo e icebergs a la deriva sobre su superficie.
Se encuentra no muy lejos del Parque Nacional Skaftafell y prácticamente al lado del conocido lago glaciar Jökulsárlón, sin embargo este sí es un lago natural.
Desde el lago glaciar Breiðárlón un pequeño río desemboca en el Fjallsárlón.
Por encima del glaciar, se asoma el famoso volcán Öræfajökull.
Cuando está nublado y las aguas tranquilas, la imagen de los icebergs se refleja en la superficie del lago. Es entonces cuando las posibilidades para hacer buenas fotografías se disparan gracias a las simetrías.
La vista es mucho mejor en grande

This is by far my most favorite combination of light - the warm evening light against dark stormy weather with something interesting in the frame. Faroe is a such special place with weather that often changes every 5 minutes, so any moment like this was always hugely appreciated (as short as it always was !)

Europe - UK - England - East Midlands - County of Rutland - Normanton Church on eastern shore of Rutland Water reservoir - St Matthew's Church - Grade II listed building built in classical style
In our heavily digitalized age, it is becoming more and more difficult to find less known locations to capture. This wonderful submerged church is one of my recent finds that I was not aware of till couple of months ago. The evening was wonderfully calm and the reflection was near perfect. Only downside of this evening session was the fact, that there was no artificial lighting at dusk. I asked about that in nearby hotel and they said that the lighting of the church seems rather random.

Standing on this stunning spot was surely an unique experience, I remember the super windy conditions while we were nearly blown away while trying to take a single reasonable shot. The short window when sun was actually shining was super brief, I'm sure huge storm came shortly after that and we must have run back towards the car to hide. We used to call it "ugly" is coming again. The most frequent statement of the trip in Faroes !

We've passed this old grocery store on Main Street many times but I've never managed a decent zoom-zoom shot, finally succeeded last week, I got some great early evening light. So I researched this place on the net, I had noticed the worn moving sale sign in the window, thought it might be for sale, it isn't. but I found out it is a 95 year old building and has been a business for 35ish years, and is assessed at $689,700 but I'm sure they would get more for it in today's hot market.

Once leaving behind the village of Seyðisfjörður (Seydisfiordur) and starting to climb the road that crosses the pass, you find right in front of you Gufufoss waterfall, just a mile away from the place of the previous shot. Maybe t is not one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland, but it is one of the most beautiful and powerful.
The landscape in Fjarðarheiði changes in every bend of the road. The rivers, glaciar lakes, snowed mountains , ice caps, melting springs appear in front of the traveller’s eyes.
It was early morning, the sun light came from the East, in the Eastfjords. I shot a long exposure to capture the essence of the waterfall.
Like I said, this valley is so awesome.

Una vez que se ha dejado atrás el pueblo de Seyðisfjörður (Seydisfiordur) y se ha comenzado a subir por la carretera que atraviesa el paso entre las montañas, justo en frente aparece la cascada de Gufufoss (a solo media milla del lugar de la imagen anterior). Tal vez, no es una de las cascadas más famosas de Islandia, pero es una de las más bellas.
El paisaje cambia en el paso de Fjarðarheiði a cada curva de la carretera. Los ríos, los lagos glaciares, las montañas nevadas, los lagos glaciares, los arroyos de deshielo, placas de hielo, manantiales aparecen sucesivamente frente a los ojos del viajero.
Era por la mañana temprano, la luz del sol iluminaba desde el Este, en los Eastfjords. Elegí una larga exposición para captar la esencia de la cascada.
Tal y como dije, este valle es impresionante.

Desert has always been my passion, I love to play with its shadows, shapes and views it offers. Morocco has something additional to that - man in blue ! :-) I just love the contrast of the deep orange color of the sand and the bright blue color of the traditional local dress.
Morocco and especially Sahara desert with its very dark skies is perfect for seeing and also capturing the night sky with the glorious Milky Way. The sky in the desert is wonderfully dark with minimum light pollution, which gives a great sight, which you can also see in the :

I wanted to capture this view for few years now. Getting the permission to shoot from the roof wasnt the easist thing to do, but I managed at the end. That small cloud on the sky was a nice touch in region where you mainly have just clear cloudless skies.

What a joy it was to find these unusual desert formation in Abu Dhabi desert. Definitely an area I want to explore more the next time around as I got this location the very very last minute just before the sunset (due to damn complicated traffic situation), so instead of meditating what would be better composition, I had minutes just before the sun set down.

The weather in Faroe Islands keeps reminding me one funny T-shirt they sell in Iceland - "If you dont like the weather, wait for 5 mins" It is exactly how our days are like... this was literally 5 mins break before huge rain fell on us. Luckily the car was nearby.

Europe - UK - England - Devon - Hartland Devon Heritage Coast - Hartland Quay - Dramatic rocky coast along Atlantic Ocean with Warren Cliff and large upright chevron folds
This part of Devon was an incredible surprise for me, although its rough dramatic beauty has been known to photographers for some time. Even producers of the great TV show "Night Manager" situated few scenes there, and surely there were not the only ones ! Add wonderful period of end of May or early June with its Sea Pink or Purple Sea Thrift Flower in full bloom and you get the perfect mix !

Many people in Dubai focus on the sky-high buildings in this modern city, but sometimes the special place can be found way below. This take on Ras Al Khor Bridge had been on my list for some time and finally managed to stop by there too.

Watching the sun rise or set over the sand dunes of Merzouga may be the most spectacular experience you have on your trip to Morocco. The Erg Chebbi, the name of these sand dunes, is said to have some of the highest dunes in Morocco. Indeed, the dunes and the desert wildlife are impressive.
The dunes of Erg Chebbi is a strikingly strange natural formation. On the top of the flattest area you could imagine, suddenly a long mountain of sand rises. This mountain is surrounded by flat and desolate nature on all sides, and you could end up wondering if it really is real. But so it is, even if its existence is so weird that it has given rise to lengeds and myths among the locals. One legend tells us that the dunes of Erg Chebbi were created by God as a punishment to the locals of nearby Merzouga after they refused to give shelter to a woman and her child during a local festival. A sandstorm came, and buried the village of Merzouga is it was then.
Morocco and especially Sahara desert with its very dark skies is perfect for seeing and also capturing the night sky with the glorious Milky Way. The sky in the desert is wonderfully dark with minimum light pollution, which gives a great sight, which you can also see in the :

This timelapse video offers night view at some iconic or less known locations in various parts of Morocco, might it be Sahara desert, Ksar Aït Benhaddou (UNESCO), High Atlas Mountains & Toubkal National Park or Telouet Kasbah along former caravan route from Sahara over Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.

Europe - UK - England - Cornwall - Land's End - Penn an Wlas - Pedn an Wlas - Mainland Britain's most westerly point and one of the country's most famous landmarks, with 200 foot high granite cliffs that rise out of the Atlantic Ocean
End of May or June are great months to visit this wonderful special place as the sun set north enough to appear behind the arch, plus the wonderful Sea Pink or Purple Sea Thrift Flower is in full bloom everywhere along the cliffs. All you need is just the right amount of clouds for bit of color and not too much wind which somehow seem to be part of this dramatic location at all times.

Middle East is not known for its amazing sunsets, but occasionally something spectacular occurs. This cloud with setting sun was perfectly positioned just next to the tallest building in the world - iconic Burj Khalifa.

Turkey - Türkiye - Istanbul - Ancient Byzantium & Constantinople - Kiz Kulesi - Maiden's Tower - Leander's Tower - Tower lying on small islet located at southern entrance of Bosphorus strait 200 m from coast of Üsküdar - One of the best-known sights of Istanbul
This might be one of the most iconic locations in Istanbul, but I only visited there during my last trip. The weather conditions were absolutely terrible, super strong wind, super strong rain, very cold day. Luckily at the end we managed to hide behind one of the small coffee shops along the seashore. The result is way better than I could hoped for considering how awful the evening weather was. You simply never know and you should always try till the end. I would like to add that once we left the very fragile shelter, we got the most of the strong downpour and I got to the ferry so soaken wet as probably never in my life. Things we do love.. ups photography ;))
