Megacerus discoidus bug on a morning glory. One of my early macro shots of this very interesting bug.

I just happened to look down and see this one, Sea Foam Green leaf sitting on a pile of brown leaves and then a shaft of light hit the leaf. A minute later, if that, the light was gone.

Fleeting scenes.

Shot using a Canon EF 50mm f2.5 Compact-Macro lens.

This was another photo stack using 8 images and done internally using the camera's Focus Bracketing program to do the composite.

The other week I was standing in my neighbour's garden having a chat when I look down at the lavender and saw this little crab spider trying to drag a bee away from some little flies. He eventually dragged it down further into the middle of the plant. My neighbour is used to me stopping our chats mid sentence now to go and take photos lol. These are not crops and were taken with my 75-300 mm lens and the 36mm Kenko extension tube.

Somehow the water from above collects first as small, then bigger drops on top of the leaves, slide down to the center and then go down the ravine.

Brown leaf on Sycamore tree is hanging on for awhile longer. This is SOOC except for increased contrast the frame and signature. The background pastels are the sky and other leaves still on the tree. I took several shots this morning of this colorful tree leaves.

I miss the flowers of summer, this shot is from my garden this summer!! Beautifully hand painted by the best gardener ever!!

Megacerus discoidus bug in a local morning glory. If you look closely at the rear end of this insect you can detect an upside down smiley face. You can also see one of the mooselike antler antennae sticking out on the left side of the morning glory stigma.

None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone.

MTB inner tube or bicycle tube valve inner cores. Normally not seen, because it’s hidden within the valves outer enclosure. For size reference, one valve core has a total length of approx. 19 mm. At a repair shop, the take them out with a special tool, to flatten the bicycle tires fast, and then screw them in again.

The valve cores were arranged on metallized bubble foil envelopes, normally used for transport and storage of ESD sensitive parts or PCB’s

Speaking of sunshine, we're getting a winter storming warning for tonight--which always is a lovely way to kick off the work week. Shoveling, slush and Santa...gosh I love December.

Happy Scarlet Sunday! (#2 of 2)

Taken at the Lazy 5 Ranch, an outdoor animal exhibit near Mooresville, NC. They have lots of nice flowers. This bee wasn't in the exhibits, but just doing her job, and, incidentally, pollinating the cactus flowers.
