Longwood Gardens Lily Pool

Our Beloved Mother, Lydia Empleo y Gabito, 69.. expired this afternoon... yesterday she was diagnosed with Leukemia, and today she has returned to her Creator.

She was a strong and hardworking mother, raising 6 kids alone.. we lost our father when I was barely 2 years old..

But she was also the most kindhearted woman I ever met.. never stopped caring for all he people around her.. be it a friend, a relative.. a co-worker or a complete stranger.

I can list down all the merits this woman had.. but most of all, she was our beloved Mother.

My only regret is that.. I never get the chance to talk to her and say how much I love her even for the last time... I'm still with flu so I wasn't able to visit her in the hospital.. only this afternoon when she's critical that I was able to come.. but she's already slipping away..

I just hope that she knew that I love her so much!!!

Please include her to your prayers...

Thank you.. and GodBless!!!

Still here in Cagayan De Oro... worrying about my folks in Manila and in my hometown in Bicol. All I can do is pray.

Hope they're okay...

taken during the Pinoy Macro EB @ the Makiling Botanical Garden, UPLB, College, Laguna

Took this at Crathes Castle just east of Banchory Scotland. We got to the castle early and spent some time in the beautiful and impressive gardens. I haven't the slightest idea what kind of flower this is, but I really like it!

It's a gaillardia (thanks Taty!) common name is blanketflower

Food Month Continues! We've covered breakfast, lunch & dinner and quite a few delicious desserts, but now that we're in the home stretch of January's Food Month (only 5 days left!), I'm having a snack attack!

Tootsie Pops: These hard candy lollipops filled with a chewy Tootsie Roll are heaven on a stick. Grape is my fav, but I'll settle for Cherry, Strawberry, Blue Raspberry, Orange or Raspberry. Oh, right...that's every flavor. :)~

abdominal markings of a hoverfly on a helenium flower

Happy Saturday! Laura's Mom is coming to visit us here in San Francisco tomorrow, so you know I will be handed a lengthy "Honey Do" list shortly. Oh well, it will be great to see her and show off our city...even if it means I have to do lots of chores. :)
