the first of four falls was our second date, smack in the middle of an intersection. chain broke (had a screwed up singulator that i pursuaded him to remove soon thereafter) and off we went. kind of like watching a cat reorient itself after being dropped upside down. his own fault, kind of, cause he used too much torque for what the singulator could handle.

second fall: around midnight a cab rode too close, swiped his bars and sent the bike down. he let go and opted to kind of jump off to the rear onto his ass. bike was about a food from tucking underneath the cab wheel. guy drove off, we think he was drunk.

third fall: bike path at the bottom of a curvy hill, with modest crash pad on his back. decided to play in the grass, then the bike decided to dive and he did a nice rolling splay on the way down. his own fault.

fourth fall: van turned right, cutting him off rather harshly, so he swung left only to find an access-a-ride van double parked with a welcoming rear profile. last night he changed from super narrow straight bars to more normal width mountain bars, so his instinctual move didn't allow enough room. landed on his hip, elbow, knee, ended on his back, and a cab screeched to a hault but two feet away.

i repeat: this boy needs a helmet...

"Crime master Gogo naam hai mera ... aankhen nikaal kar gotiyaan khelta hoon main" 😀😁😂

.

This dialogue from the cult comedy movie Andaz Apna Apna cracks me up every time. The movie on the whole which is like a spoof of its own is remembered forever by one and all. .

I don't know why I chose this as the caption to this photograph, but it seemed apt here with the Goti (Glass Marble) in the frame.

Well funly enough im in a macro mood. I have decided im going to buy a macro tamron lense. I found this little screw on macro filter thing and put it on to my 18-55mm lense and took some macros, they worked out pretty well!!!

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe!

Can you tell I'm in a macro mood? I am patiently waiting for my Venus 60mm f/2.8 to arrive from China...looks like maybe as early as tomorrow!

After a long debate between buying the Nikon 60mm AF-D Micro and the newer AF-S Micro-NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED I settled for the former (... due to the financial crisis) and it finally arrived today. It wasn't an easy decision considering the fact that I'm a proud owner of a Nikon D40, which means that from now on, whenever I'm in a macro mood, i'll have to do it the "hard" way (manual focus), which I'm totally loving :)

Anyway thanks to the people at cyberphoto for the fast delivery. Of course I had to do some test shots ...

Today was my mother-in-law's birthday. Against all stereotypes, Momsie (as we affectionately call her) and I have a great relationship. While visiting, I noticed a great bouquet of flowers at her house so it seemed opportune to capture the day with the first macro shot of my 365 project.

Even though the weather was rain and fog mix, I decided to grab a few shots at lunch time and on the way home from the office. Lighting was a challenge, but that's why I'm taking some seminars. Right now I'm in a macro mood, so please give me your honest opinions to help me improve.

Nature does not reveal its secrets.

It only responds to our methods of questioning.
