Can you tell I'm in a macro mood? I am patiently waiting for my Venus 60mm f/2.8 to arrive from China...looks like maybe as early as tomorrow!
After a long debate between buying the Nikon 60mm AF-D Micro and the newer AF-S Micro-NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED I settled for the former (... due to the financial crisis) and it finally arrived today. It wasn't an easy decision considering the fact that I'm a proud owner of a Nikon D40, which means that from now on, whenever I'm in a macro mood, i'll have to do it the "hard" way (manual focus), which I'm totally loving :)
Anyway thanks to the people at cyberphoto for the fast delivery. Of course I had to do some test shots ...
Today was my mother-in-law's birthday. Against all stereotypes, Momsie (as we affectionately call her) and I have a great relationship. While visiting, I noticed a great bouquet of flowers at her house so it seemed opportune to capture the day with the first macro shot of my 365 project.
Amazing shot of andy and his Fingers of fun....the mood in this shot makes you wanna Listen and learn!!
am just in macro mood lately...
i shot this in my room on a table top using my sb600 tilted on the ceiling. i positioned the table towards the living room where the light is off. i adjusted the contrast via picnik thus the black background.

Just like every other person, I also get excited whenever I get something new which I wanted for a long time and this time it is about my New Prosumer Lensbong L810 Macro Lens..

I was super excited to officially kick off my macro photography and went on for photo walk in the city's popular garden..

I was under an impression that, though Macro is something new for me I'll get it right within few trials. But it was only after almost 2 hours of clicking so many shots, trying so many angles, struggling with the stabilization (which is damn important in Macro Photography), I understood that Macro shoot is not that easy. It's fun and also I got to learn something new but it was challenging as today was the first official trial. And then, when i was about to call it for today I got this Superb shot of The Sunflower 🌻..

That's why Photography is always about Patience and the Passion to go after it..

Designed and developed by Urbain DRC & INVIVIA, this interactive, inflatable art installation was displayed throughout the summer in Minneapolis. The cloud-like inflatable concept hovers above ground and turns real-time information into an abstract light display.
On Tuesday afternoon I drove all the way to Nymans (a National Trust garden) intending to take some macro shots of the lovely flowers there. However, when I pointed my camera at the first flower a flashing message popped up saying 'NO CARD'. Aaargh!!! I normally check I have everything for my camera before I leave home, but just this once I didn't. Anyway, I came home and took a few photos of a plant I'd just bought at the local garden centre instead. At least I didn't waste my 'macro mood' completely. :)
