A curled up female firefly (Lamprigera sp.) on a fern. These large fireflies are flightless, and a pair of bulbs on its abdomen emit a vibrant glow under darkness.

For this assignment you are to seek out the pointy and creatively capture it. There should be plenty of subjects that fit this assignment. You could go with steeples, fences, knives, forks, beaks, fingers, etc. What ever the subject, please use composition and lighting to make a compelling image.
WIT: Found this Pin Frog (the points hold stems of flowers at the bottom of a vase) and since I've been in a macro mood lately, thought I would give it a try - especially since it has lots of points. After a few attempts without color, it was just too blah. The color was added by using semi-clear plastic jackets under, and in back of, the object.

Japanese Iris have a relatively short blooming period "right around now" - some years the iris bloom has trickled out through some weeks, others it goes all at one time. While the docent said that they were "getting going" (rather than being all out) this was one of the bigger groups of bloom that I've seen there. Although today I was more in a macro mood than mass bloom capture (it isn't that huge a bunch of iris, in any case :-) )

Even though the weather was rain and fog mix, I decided to grab a few shots at lunch time and on the way home from the office. Lighting was a challenge, but that's why I'm taking some seminars. Right now I'm in a macro mood, so please give me your honest opinions to help me improve.
পৃথিবীর নাতিশীতোষ্ণ অঞ্চলে এই Piper গণের প্রায় ৫০ টি প্রজাতি (species) পাওয়া যায়। প্রধানত এরা লতা জাতীয় তবে এর মধ্যে কয়কেটি বৃক্ষের পর্যায়ে পড়ে। আমাদের এই উপ-মহাদেশে প্রায় ৩০টির অধিক এধরনের প্রজাতীর মরিচ পাওয়া যায়। অবশ্য এক একটির botanical name: আলাদা হলেও এরা সবাই একই গণের অর্ন্তভূক্ত।
এই গোল আকৃতির মরিচটি লতানো গাছে জন্মে আমাদের গ্রাম গুলোর অনেক বসত বাড়ী গুলোতে দু-একটি দীর্ঘায়ু গাছটি পাওয়া যায়। এ মরিচটির ফুলসাধারণ মরিচের মতো হলেও এটি পাপড়ি গুলো ছড়ানো থাকে। তীব্র ঝাঝলো এই গোলাকৃতির ছোট মরিচটি যা কিছূটা গোল টমেটোর মতো। তবে, এটি ক্যাপসিকাম প্রজাতির নয়। যা সাধারণ রন্ধন প্রণালী গুলোতে দেশী মরিচের ৪=১ সমকক্ষ, এর ঔষধি ব্যবহারও অনেক পাতা , বীজ, লতা, গ্রামীণ মানুষেরা তাদের রোগ নীরাময়ে ব্যবহার করে আসছেন আদি কাল থেকেই। এর নানা লোকায়িত ব্যবহারের প্রমাণ বৈদ্যের নথিতে পাওয়া যায়।

Piper nigrum is a flowering vine in the family Piperaceae, cultivated for its fruit, which is usually dried and used as a spice and seasoning. The fruit, known as a peppercorn when dried, is a small drupe approximately 5 millimetres (0.20 in) in diameter, dark red when fully mature, containing a single seed. Peppercorns, and the powdered pepper derived from grinding them, may be described as black pepper, white pepper, green pepper, and very often only pepper. The terms pink peppercorns, red pepper (as in bell or chile), and green pepper (as in bell or chile) are also used to describe the fruits of other, unrelated plants. Sichuan peppercorn is another "pepper" that is botanically unrelated to black pepper. However, green peppercorns are also simply the immature black peppercorns.

These guys are not uncommon but are very hard to spot in the garden.

গুল্ম জাতীয় উদ্ভদি,সাধারণত আমাদের গ্রামাঞ্চলের পতিত জমি রাস্তার ধারে,জঙ্গলে অযন্ত অবহালেতেই এ ফুলের গাছটি অনায়াসেই যন্মে থাকে।এর সংস্কৃত নাম ‘ঘন্টাকর্ণ’ বাংলায় প্রচলিত নাম ভাইটা,ভাট,ঘেটু,ইত্যাদি নামে পরিচিত।
এই জঙ্গলী গুল্ম জাতীয় অবহেলিত গাছটি। গ্রামাঞ্চলের সাধারণ মানুষরা তাদের দৈনদিন জীবনের অনেক আর্য়বেদী ঔষধী কাজে ব্যবহার করে এর পাতা,ফল,ফুল,মূল ইত্যাদি।
