Ahh, magic tricks.
When I was a boy,
I wanted to impress my friends and cousins with magic. I learned slieght of hand for parlor tricks and card tricks.
When I was a bit older, my 'handle' on the CB radio was "The Magician." Nothing special came of those skills. No cutting a white tiger in two or making an elephant disappear. I have matured a little bit since then.
Photo taken for Macro MOnday's where each week we follow a suggested theme or topic and post up to five photos showing our interpretation on Mondays.
so here ya go. It's still Monday in Vegas and California...

My latest 35mm point and shoot acquisition (£1.50 from a charity shop).
Photo taken using my new saucepan technique (I think it distributes the flash more effectively).
Note the little flower button which does some kind of 6cm macro magic. (Update: no it doesn't!)
100 and 400 ISO DX sensing only
CR2 battery
It's very light and compact - hope the pictures turn out good too!

A bit of macro magic.. ;D
It will be Sarah's 30th birthday on Monday (16 March 2009), and my sister-in-law Angie came round with some flowers and a present. This gave me a good opportunity to do some macro work. Natural light from a north facing window.
Nikon D100 c/w Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX DG Macro.
NOTE I must say that I am a little dissapointed with the Sigma lens, not optically (I don't think I've used it enough or any other macro lens to judge that), but the handling is less than impressive. I find it very noisy (something that I never read in any review) and it has a tendency to 'hunt', something I didn't expect from a 2.8 lens. These macro shot were manual focus - as macro should be!
May one day px it for the Nikon 105mm f2.8 VR Macro.
p.s. some shots were taken at f32 - these really showed how dirty my sensor is - must get it cleaned sometime!!!
I always knew that someday I would be rewarded for all my hard work.
I am blushing.

Beneath the gentle waters of Eleuthera’s Oleander Gardens lies a vibrant tapestry of life — intricate coral facades, elusive crustaceans, feathered worms, and sponges painted in colors that defy imagination.
Here, nature’s patterns are both science and art, and every frame is a reminder: beauty thrives where we choose to look closely.

Es blitzt ein Tropfen Morgentau im Strahl des Sonnenlichts; ein Tag kann eine Perle sein und ein Jahrhundert nichts.
It flashes a drop of dew in ray of sunlight ; one day may be a pearl and a century nothing.
