The moment I saw this brightly colored flower, I was taken back to Hogwarts and Harry Potter. Perhaps I've been looking in the wrong place for a bit of magic.
For me, the swallowtail is the king of butterflies. One is currently flying endless rounds in my garden every afternoon. It's wonderful to watch it gliding and it seemingly enjoying itself. Every now and then a second one comes by and they fly away together. But a short time later, "mine" comes back to do its rounds again. I wonder how long it will keep coming...
Macro Mondays theme Bokeh
Out in the garden, battling with the elements, this is a section of spider's web in one of those rare moments of sunshine after the storms.
This portion of web measures around 4cm (?) and I didn't even realise there was a spider there but I think it turned up for the photo opportunity. I had to crop in a bit as well to avoid some annoying coloured distractions in the background.
I hope everyone is well and wishing everyone a positive start to the week!!!
Happy Macro Monday! 😊

The fun thing about macro for me is that this time of year there are so many different subjects just crawling about. Especially in the morning with the dew drops. I used to really struggle this time of year with photography because I live in an area that is not very picturesque. I would long for the mountains, lakes and oceans. But now I at least have my little macro world.
